The Strategy Analyst role involves supporting pricing strategy, commercial analysis, and generating business insights, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to influence pricing decisions and growth initiatives.ResponsibilitiesDevelop analyses and recommendations related to pricing optimization, commercial simplification, whitespace opportunities, and market positioningSupport execution of pricing strategy initiatives through competitive price tracking, market monitoring, pricing diagnostics, and pricing data maintenance activitiesConduct competitive research and pricing analyses across Higher Education, Workforce Skills, Milady, Gale, ELL, and other Cengage businesses to identify pricing trends, risks, and opportunitiesSupport recurring and ad hoc analytical requests tied to strategic business questions, leadership reviews, and commercial initiativesGather, clean, organize, and analyze data from multiple sources to support insight generation and business decision-makingPartner with Commercial Strategy, Pricing Strategy, Enterprise Analytics, and Finance teams to help translate data into actionable business insightsBuild and maintain analytical models, trackers, summaries, and presentations used to support pricing and commercial strategy decisionsAssist in identifying key business drivers, market trends, customer behaviors, and commercial performance patterns across Cengage businessesHelp support strategic analyses related to market opportunity, portfolio performance, customer adoption, and commercial effectivenessDevelop proficiency with analytical and reporting tools such as Excel, SQL, Snowflake, Power BI, and other business intelligence technologiesContribute to executive-ready presentations and business reviews by helping synthesize findings into clear summaries, charts, and recommendationsSupport broader strategic and transformation projects as needed, including business reviews, market analyses, and commercial initiativesSkillsA four-year college degree with high achievement and previous experience with the following:1-3 years of professional experience in analytics, strategy, consulting, pricing, finance, business intelligence, commercial operations, or related analytical roles (can include co-op experience)Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills with attention to detail and intellectual curiosityAdvanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with familiarity or interest in learning SQL, Snowflake, and other analytical toolsAbility to work with and interpret large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insightsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentAbility to communicate analytical findings clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiencesInterest in pricing strategy, commercial analytics, market analysis, and strategic business problem solvingStrong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across teams and functionsInterest in creatively leveraging AI (where applicable) to support analysis and research methodsDemonstrated initiative, learning agility, and willingness to take ownership of work products and analysesComfortable navigating ambiguity and supporting projects with evolving business questions and prioritiesExperience in education technology, SaaS, subscription businesses, pricing analysis, consulting, or commercial analytics environments preferredPassion for using data and analysis to help drive business decisions and uncover opportunities for growth and improvementBenefitsAt Cengage Group, we take great pride in our commitment to providing a comprehensive and rewarding Total Rewards package designed to support and empower our employees.You will be eligible to participate in the company’s discretionary incentive bonus program.This position's bonus target amount, which is not guaranteed and is dependent on individual performance and overall company results among other factorsCompany OverviewCengage, a global edtech company, supports learners, educators and institutions across more than 100 countries.
