[Remote] Strategic Finance Associate

They are seeking a Strategic Finance Associate to enhance their financial infrastructure, automate workflows, and support decision-making across the business.ResponsibilitiesHelp design and build Cadence’s next-generation FP&A infrastructure, including evaluation and implementation of a purpose-built planning toolIdentify, design, and automate manual financial workflows using modern tooling (including AI-enabled solutions) to improve speed, accuracy, and scalabilityLeverage AI and automation tools to streamline modeling, reporting, and data analysis (e.g., reducing manual data manipulation and accelerating insights generation)Partner with Data and Engineering to ensure financial metrics are consistently defined, reliable, and scalableBuild and maintain scalable models and dashboards that improve visibility into business performanceEnsure finance outputs are actionable, trusted, and efficiently produced across teamsDevelop and refine frameworks for tracking cost of care, operating expenses, and contribution margins across customers and programsBuild models that clearly explain changes in margins and unit economics over timePartner with clinical, operations, and supply chain teams to understand cost drivers and identify opportunities for improvementTranslate complex financial data into clear insights that inform decision-makingSupport preparation of board materials, investor updates, and internal reporting to leadershipBuild models and analyses that underpin key narratives around growth, margins, and scalabilityHelp ensure consistency, accuracy, and clarity across all external-facing financial materialsSupport monthly and quarterly forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysisImprove existing reporting processes to better highlight business drivers and actionable insightsPartner with Accounting during month-end close to ensure accurate financial outputsBuild pricing models to support sales and partnerships as they engage health system partnersAnalyze tradeoffs between growth, cost, and long-term profitabilitySupport cross-functional teams in setting targets for partners and evaluating business performanceOver time, develop and own recommendations on pricing and unit economics for each health systemSkills3–5 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, or a high-growth startup finance roleStrong financial modeling skills (Excel / Google Sheets) with the ability to structure analyses from scratchDemonstrated ability or strong interest in leveraging AI and automation tools to improve financial workflows and analysis (e.g., scripting, no-code tools, or AI-assisted modeling/reporting)Experience working with large datasets and translating data into actionable insightsHigh attention to detail with strong analytical rigorAbility to clearly communicate complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to operate in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with shifting prioritiesProactive mindset: ability to anticipate needs and take ownership without heavy directionStrong business judgment and willingness to make recommendations, not just provide analysisDesire to, and ability to be successful in, remote workExperience evaluating or implementing FP&A / planning toolsExperience using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Python-based workflows, or automation platforms) to enhance financial modeling, reporting, or data analysisExposure to healthcare, SaaS, or marketplace business modelsExperience supporting investor or board-level reportingFamiliarity with BI tools (e.g., Metabase, Looker, Tableau)BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insuranceCompetitive total compensation and meaningful equityTelaDoc (virtual primary care)National and local discounts powered by TriNetUnlimited PTO and paid holidaysRemote equipment setup and home office stipendPaid Parental Leave401K and 401K matchCharitable Donation Match programCompany OverviewCadence is the support system for health systems, clinicians and patients, bringing effortless care into people’s homes.
