The Strategic Account Manager will maintain relationships with strategic accounts, develop business strategies, and achieve sales quotas while collaborating with cross-functional partners to drive growth.ResponsibilitiesMaintaining Positive Relationships: Acting as the main point of contact to ensure strategic accounts are satisfied and their business needs are metDeveloping Business Strategies: Creating strategies that benefit the company and its strategic accountsTargeting New Accounts: Setting strategies for targeting and penetrating new accountsHandling Large Accounts: Leading all aspects of and growing large, sophisticated accountsCollaborating Across Functions: Working with cross-functional data solutions partners to drive growthAchieving Sales Quotas: Being responsible for meeting sales quotas with strategic accountsNegotiating Contracts: Developing and growing sales, negotiating contracts, and ensuring legal complianceUnderstanding Customer Needs: Maintaining relationships to understand customer requirements and developing appropriate solutionsProviding Forecasts: Offering frequent updates to support the Annual Operating Plan (AOP)Identifying New Opportunities: Work with sales and marketing teams to identify new product categories or markets and drive new business opportunitiesRecommending Product Mix: Partnering with product management and marketing to recommend the appropriate product mix and sourcing strategiesGenerating Growth: Selling data solutions with a targeted focus on integrator accountsSupporting Growth Accounts: Supporting the business through the generation of new growth accounts while maintaining and developing existing onesSkillsBachelor's degree or equivalent data center sales/account management experienceIdeally, 5+ years in account management or outside sales experience in data center sales; experience should include 2+ years leading strategic accountsAbility to sell power distribution, data center Infrastructure products, data center cooling (HDLC), and other electrical products into the data center spaceKnowledge of how a direct-to-customer sales environment operatesSkills in handling multiple tasks/projects, along with the ability to work in a self-directed mannerSkills to effectively resolve quality and delivery concerns in a professional and timely mannerExperience with Salesforce.com or a similar CRMAbility to work 100% remotely from a home office anywhere in the US and travel 20-30% of the time on averageA valid driver's license is requiredKnowledge in program/project management preferredBenefitsMedical, dental, and vision plans along with flexible spending accounts, short-term and long-term disability benefits, critical illness, accident insurance and life insurance.A 401(k) retirement plan and an employee stock purchase plan 6 both include a company match.Other supplemental benefits may include tuition reimbursement, caregiver, personal and parental leave, back-up care services, paid time off including volunteer time, a well-being program, and/or legal & identity theft protection.Company OverviewnVent is an electronics manufacturing firm that specializes in providing electrical connection and protection solutions to customers.
