[Remote] Steel Construction Project Manager

Qualdoc is a growing construction and fabrication organization seeking a Steel Construction Project Manager to oversee multiple projects involving fabricated steel and metal systems. The role is responsible for guiding projects through all phases, from planning and procurement to fabrication, installation, and final closeout, while ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and safety standards.ResponsibilitiesDirect and manage projects involving structural steel, miscellaneous metals, joist systems, and metal deckingCoordinate engineering, detailing, fabrication, delivery, and field installation activitiesReview drawings, specifications, and project documents to verify scope, material requirements, and installation detailsDevelop and maintain project timelines, ensuring milestones are met throughout each stage of executionPrepare and process project documentation including submittals, purchase orders, contracts, subcontract agreements, and shop drawingsGenerate project billing documentation and support monthly invoicing activitiesEvaluate, prepare, and negotiate project modifications, change orders, and pricing proposalsCollaborate with owners, contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors to support successful project executionMonitor material procurement and delivery schedules to prevent delays and maintain workflowParticipate in BIM coordination meetings and assist with identifying and resolving design conflictsTrack subcontractor performance and address project issues when corrective actions are necessaryMaintain complete and accurate project records in both digital and physical formatsSkillsMinimum of four years of project management experience within construction, steel fabrication, or related industriesDemonstrated success managing commercial and/or industrial construction projectsValid driver's license and ability to travel to active project sitesStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applicationsUnderstanding of steel construction processes, materials, and industry best practicesKnowledge of project budgeting, quality assurance, and jobsite safety standardsStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferredExperience using project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera is preferredFamiliarity with fabrication and detailing software, including Tekla and Fabtrol, is beneficialBenefitsRemote with periodic travel to project sites throughout the Mid-Atlantic regionSchedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PMAdditional hours, including occasional Saturdays, may be required based on project needs.Mileage reimbursement is available for approved business travel.Company OverviewQualdoc provides quality documentation review, supply chain management, industrial staffing solutions, and supplier validation services.
