As a Staff Software Engineer on the Platform Engineering team, you will own and evolve the strategy, architecture, and governance of release and configuration systems, ensuring reliable and scalable software deployment.ResponsibilitiesDrive and build the release and configuration layer of the platform, shaping how software moves from build to production across the organizationDesign and implement scalable release workflows and tooling, creating reusable abstractions that standardize how services are built, validated, and deployedOperate as a technical leader within our Platform Engineering Zone, collaborating closely with CI and infrastructure owners to extend and integrate with core systemsBuild systems for release orchestration, including artifact promotion, environment-aware deployments, and release candidate validationDevelop self-service tooling and paved paths that make safe, reliable deployment patterns the default for engineering teamsIdentify systemic issues in release and environment management and implement durable, platform-level solutionsBuild and embed automated validation, safety checks, and rollback mechanisms directly into release workflowsDesign and implement environment and configuration management systems, ensuring consistency, traceability, and reproducibility across dev, staging, and productionContinuously improve release reliability, scalability, and developer experience through automation and thoughtful system designBuild and evolve observability into the release lifecycle, enabling visibility into deployment health, performance, and failure modesOwn the 'last mile' of the platform—where build artifacts become production systemsSkills5+ years of experience building platform systems, infrastructure, or developer-facing toolingStrong software engineering skills (TypeScript or similar), with a track record of building internal tools, services, or frameworksExperience leading or heavily contributing to shared engineering platforms, with meaningful hands-on implementationDeep familiarity with CI/CD systems as platforms—you've built on top of them or extended them programmaticallyStrong understanding of containerized systems (Docker, Kubernetes) and modern deployment architecturesExperience building systems on AWS, especially in multi-environment, production-scale contextsStrong understanding of release systems: artifact management, promotion strategies, rollback mechanisms, and deployment safetyProven ability to identify systemic problems and turn them into scalable tooling or platform improvementsExperience working across platform domains (CI, infrastructure, SRE), contributing to systems you don't directly ownA focus on developer experience, with a track record of reducing friction through automation and self-service toolingA builder's mindset—you think in terms of systems, abstractions, and leverage, and you lead through implementationDeep curiosity in Agentic, spec-driven developmentBenefitsCompetitive salary and equity packages for all employeesPlatinum medical, dental, and visionFree life insurance: Including long-term disability & short-term disabilityUnlimited PTO: Uncapped vacation days & paid holidaysMaternity & paternityAssured contributes 3% of your income, even if you don't contributeLunch on us 2x/week, monthly phone stipend & other home office perksPre-tax accounts for out-of-pocket medical expensesTeam events & Offsites: We're remote, but we regularly get togetherCompany Overview**We have been made aware of individuals falsely posing as recruiters from Assured Insurance Technologies Inc.
