They are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to build a high-performance batch processing platform and infrastructure, working with big data technologies at a large scale.ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and optimize Pinterest’s batch processing infrastructureCollaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needsLead technical projects and initiatives, driving them to completionMentor and guide junior engineers on best practices and architectureEnsure the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of data systemsSkills6+ years of experience building and supporting large scalable big data infrastructure/platformsExtensive experience with big data query technologies such as Spark SQL or Presto/TrinoProven skills in designing and maintaining scalable data infrastructureProficiency in programming languages like Java, Scala, or PythonStrong problem-solving abilities and a drive for innovationExcellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teamsBachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experienceBenefitsThe position is also eligible for equity.Information regarding the culture at Pinterest and benefits available for this position can be found here.We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style.
