[Remote] Staff Product Manager (Disbursements)

This senior leadership role is responsible for the strategy and execution of the company's outbound payment ecosystem, ensuring transaction traceability, financial accuracy, and regulatory compliance while partnering with various teams to enhance product capabilities.ResponsibilitiesOwn the multi-year product roadmap for the full money movement lifecycle, with a primary focus on disbursements to consumersDefine and communicate a clear product vision for outbound payments that balances speed, reliability, compliance, operational efficiency, and costLead the evolution of the disbursements platform and expand product capabilities to support new use cases, partners, and payment railsLead the strategy for selecting, routing, and optimizing payments across multiple rails, including ACH, wires, RTP, FedNow, push-to-card, and digital walletsDefine rules and product capabilities that intelligently route payouts based on speed cost, reliability, risk, and client expectationsOwn payout configuration, timing, cutoffs, retries, reversals, and exception handling across railsResponsible for driving the vision for end to end money movement for disbursement fundingEnsure every outbound transaction is fully traceable, correctly attributed, and reconcilable across systems by owning product requirements for ledgering, reconciliation, error handling, and payout transparencyPartner closely with accounting and finance to ensure accurate ledgering, settlement reporting, and audit readinessTranslate complex money movement flows into clear product requirements, user stories, and technical specificationsOwn backlog prioritization and delivery in partnership with engineering leadership balancing feature delivery, platform resilience, and regulatory commitmentsLead large-scale platform initiatives alongside incremental product enhancements with multiple cross functional development teamsPartner with Clients and the Vertical teams to understand their needs and build scalable features that can be leveraged across multiple clientsBuild and manage critical relationships with banks, processors, and fintech infrastructure partnersTranslate external partner capabilities and constraints into internal product advantagesSupport partner selection, onboarding, and ongoing performance management from a product perspectiveServe as the internal subject matter expert for disbursements, payouts, and outbound money movementWork closely with compliance and risk teams to design controls, limits, monitoring, and regulatory-aligned payout flowsPartner with go-to-market, operations, and support teams to ensure successful launches and operational readinessSkills15+ years of product management experience, with deep expertise in payments, money movement, disbursements, or payout platformsStrong understanding of payment rails including ACH, wires, RTP, FedNow, card-based payouts, and digital walletsProven experience owning financial infrastructure, including ledgering, reconciliation, settlement, and exception handlingExperience working directly with accounting, finance, and compliance teamsDemonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives at scaleStrong analytical and systems-thinking mindset, with attention to detail and data integrityExcellent communication skills and a track record of producing high-quality product documentationExperience operating in agile development environments (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)BenefitsCompetitive salary and benefits with growth-company options grantFast- paced and professional work cultureStock options with standard startup vesting - 1 year cliff; 4 years total$50 monthly communication expense stipend to go towards your phone/internet bill$250 stipend to enhance your WFH setupReimbursement for peripheral equipment: monitor (up to $400), keyboard and mouse (up to $200)Premium medical benefits including vision and dental (100% coverage for employees)Company-sponsored life and disability insurancePaid parental bonding leavePaid sick leave, jury duty, bereavement401k planFlexible Time Off (our team members typically take off ~3-4 weeks per year)Volunteer Time Off13 scheduled holidaysCompany OverviewPayNearMe provides a web and mobile-based cash payments platform designed to facilitate online purchases and bill payments.
