[Remote] Staff Product Designer (Grant OS)

They are seeking a Staff Product Designer to own the design for GrantOS, leading design across Platform and Core while setting design standards and conducting user research.ResponsibilitiesLead design across GrantOS Platform and Core, from discovery and research through shipping and iterationShape how grant professionals interact with Instrumentl as a platform: task management, reporting, integrations, and the data relationships that span the full grant lifecycleDrive zero-to-one product development in greenfield spaces where the problem isn't fully defined, and help define itDefine the interaction patterns and design system foundations that every other product area inheritsRaise the quality bar across Instrumentl's design system and coach other designersAct as a force multiplier for the broader design team, shaping how the org operatesConduct and synthesize user research independently, translating ambiguous user needs into clear product directionPartner as a true strategic peer to your PM and engineering lead, bringing a point of view and driving alignment across product, engineering, and GTMSkills8+ years of product design experience, with meaningful time at senior or staff levelProven track record owning complex B2B product areas end-to-end, including multi-entity workflows where data relationships, user roles, and cross-team collaboration intersect0-to-1 product ownership: you've started from a problem rather than a spec, and made good calls under uncertaintyStrong systems thinking and Figma/prototyping craft, deep involvement in user research from planning through synthesis, and the ability to influence product vision rather than just execute itB2B SaaS background, especially in complex or enterprise-adjacent systemsExperience with agentic or AI-powered product surfaces, and already using AI tools in your design practiceDesign systems experience: defining patterns, not just using themExposure to compliance, data integrity, or workflow-heavy domainsExperience mentoring or coaching other designersFamiliarity with the nonprofit or social impact sectorBenefits100% covered health, dental, and vision insurance for employees (50% for dependents)Generous PTO, including parental leave401(k)Company laptop and home-office stipendBi-annual company retreatsCompany OverviewInstrumentl is an end-to-end platform for grant management that supports organizations throughout the entire grant lifecycle.
