They are seeking a Staff Full Stack Engineer to drive the evolution of their platform, collaborating with various teams to architect, build, and scale systems that enhance healthcare workflows for providers and patients.ResponsibilitiesHelp drive the evolution of Healthie’s platform across both legacy systems and new product developmentPartner closely with Product, Design, Data, Platform, and Engineering teams to architect, build, and scale systems that power critical healthcare workflows for providers and patientsSpan backend and frontend development, platform improvements, API design, system architecture, performance optimization, and developer experience initiatives across both established and greenfield areas of our platformLead technical direction across the organization, mentor engineers, raise the engineering bar, and influence how we build scalable, reliable, and maintainable softwareSkills8+ years of experience building and scaling production software systems, including experience working across both legacy and greenfield environmentsStrong full stack engineering experience and are comfortable owning projects across backend systems, frontend applications, APIs, infrastructure-adjacent work, and system integrationsDirect experience with our tech stack: Rails, React, TypeScript, GraphQL, Postgres, Redis, Sidekiq, RSpec, and CapybaraDeep experience with software architecture, systems design, scalability, reliability, and performance optimization in complex production environmentsUnderstand how to thoughtfully evolve legacy systems while balancing business needs, technical debt, speed, and long-term maintainabilityHighly collaborative and excel at partnering cross-functionally with engineering, product, design, and operational stakeholdersComfortable leading technical initiatives, mentoring engineers, and influencing architectural decisions across teams without relying on formal authorityThrive in fast-paced startup environments and are able to balance strategic thinking with pragmatic executionStrong product and customer intuition and care deeply about building reliable, intuitive systems that improve outcomes for healthcare organizations and patientsEmbody Healthie's core values (Respect, Reliability, Resilience) and bring a collaborative, no-ego, ownership-oriented mindset to your workStrong sense of software stewardship and continuously look for opportunities to improve systems, developer experience, operational excellence, and engineering quality over timeExperience working within healthcare, healthtech, HIPAA-regulated, or highly compliant environmentsExperience contributing to platform modernization initiatives, monolith decomposition, or large-scale architectural migrationsExperience leveraging AI-assisted engineering workflows, developer tooling, or automation to improve engineering velocity and qualityBenefitsWork_model: remoteCompany OverviewHealthie offers infrastructure for next gen digital health companies that offer virtual-first care.
