[Remote] Staff Data Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Oscar is working with a leading FinTech Saas organization that is looking for an experienced Staff Data Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will own a critical portion of the Databricks platform, design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions while mentoring engineers and liaising between engineering and business stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain production-grade data pipelines in DatabricksDevelop scalable data models and architecture to support multiple products and business needsLead migration efforts from legacy systems to a unified Databricks Lakehouse platformEstablish and promote engineering best practices, including testing, code reviews, monitoring, and data quality standardsPartner with product and engineering teams to translate business requirements into data solutionsProvide technical leadership, mentorship, and architectural guidance across the teamSkills5+ years of data engineering experience with end-to-end ownership of data solutionsStrong skills in SQL, Python, and PySparkHands-on experience with Databricks (Delta Lake, Workflows, Databricks SQL)Experience building and operating large-scale ETL/ELT pipelinesStrong data modeling and architecture skillsAWS experience (S3, IAM, VPC) and familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)Excellent communication skills and ability to work directly with stakeholdersU.S.-based with availability during U.S. business hoursExperience with financial data, ERP systems, or NetSuiteExperience supporting AI/ML, RAG, or LLM-related data workloadsFamiliarity with data governance, compliance, and regulated environmentsExperience working with distributed or nearshore engineering teamsBenefitsBenefitsCompany OverviewOscar are an award-winning, global recruitment consultancy that take an ethical, sustainable and people-first approach.
