[Remote] Staff Backend Engineer

They are looking for a Staff Backend Engineer to help architect and build the foundation of a global crypto payments network, focusing on backend systems and user-facing applications while driving technical decisions and mentoring other engineers.ResponsibilitiesOwn and drive the roadmap, and implementation for multiple areas of focus, balancing short- and long-term priorities against various business needsDrive technical architecture decisions and system designsProvide technical leadership across teamsCollaborate closely with leadership, product, and teams to set strategyDevelop and maintain backend services and APIsWork closely with Azure cloud services for deployment and scalabilityConduct thorough testing, debugging, and prompt resolution of software defectsStay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologiesCreate high-quality, efficient, and reliable code following best practicesOptimize performance and scalability of backend systems for handling large data volumesStay updated on the latest trends and technologies in fintech/crypto and backend developmentBuild crypto first and secure products to facilitate traditional financial activity, such as payments, transfers etcDrive software best practices and architectural considerations on a project-wide levelChampion best practices in software engineering, infrastructure as code, and DevSecOpsSkills8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in fintech or payments infrastructureStrong backend skills in one or more of: C#, C++, Go, Java, PythonProficiency in cloud-native development (Azure), Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD toolingA security first mindset: with good knowledge of common security concepts such as AuthN, AuthZ, SAML, API security, encryption etcAn understanding of crypto concepts such as blockchains, RPCs, self custody wallets etcSolid understanding of RESTful API design principles and microservices architectureStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and make critical decisions under pressureA passion for innovation, learning, and growth.
