[Remote] Staff Accountant - Client Accounting Services

They are seeking a Staff Accountant to join their Client Accounting Services Department, where the individual will be responsible for various accounting tasks, including transaction coding, bank reconciliations, and payroll processing.ResponsibilitiesDemonstrates the ability to code transactions to the appropriate accounts with a good understanding of capitalizing assets and recording expensesReconciles client bank accounts including credit cards and investment accounts utilizing QuickBooks Online or applicable softwareDemonstrates proficiency in all aspects of Accounts Payable including entering vendor bills and preparing/processing vendor paymentsDemonstrates proficiency in all aspects of Accounts Receivable including entering client invoices, recording payments, and depositsPrepares and enters journal entries in the client fileDemonstrates proficiency in the preparation and processing of client payroll, including making EFTPS tax payments and annual forms W-2, W-3, 1099 and 1096Demonstrates proficiency in preparing and processing payroll tax returns (forms 940, 941, 944, and TWC) through various software applicationsSuccessfully trains clients in QuickBooks Online usage and basic best practices regarding maintaining their booksDemonstrates proficiency in the preparation of Forms 1099 NEC and MISCAllocates client income and expenses using class tracking and/or job costing featuresDemonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including creating and maintaining spreadsheets to calculate allocations of various client expensesDemonstrates accuracy in preparing workpapers for reviewCommunicates with clients about their books and gathers any missing informationReviews accounting files prepared by clients to make ready for tax preparation and make journal entries as neededDevelops proficiency in the preparation of Business Personal Property Tax RenditionsDemonstrates the ability to work accurately, efficiently, and within budget while organizing, scheduling, and prioritizing work involving multiple assignmentsAssists with departmental training and the documentation of processesDemonstrates the ability to positively portray the Firm’s vision and mission through community involvementSkillsBachelor's Degree in Accounting or related discipline (four year college or university) or Accounting CertificateTwo to four years related experience.
