[Remote] Staff Accountant

EWC Growth is seeking a Staff Accountant to oversee core accounting functions and maintain strong internal controls across its operations. The role involves financial reporting, multi-unit accounting, compliance, and process improvement in a fast-paced environment.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review daily, monthly, and annual journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedulesAssist with month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reportingMaintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with accounting policies and proceduresAnalyze financial results and investigate variances between actual and budgeted performanceAssist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsManage accounting activities for multiple center locations, ensuring consistent accounting treatment across all storesReview store-level cash, credit card settlements, and other revenue transactionsSupport new store openings, store relocations, and store closures from an accounting perspectiveAnalyze store profitability and operational performance metricsEnsure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policiesMaintain and improve internal controls over financial reporting and retail operationsSupport external audits, tax filings, and other regulatory reporting requirementsAssist with sales tax compliance and multi-state reporting requirementsIdentify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve reporting efficiencyParticipate in ERP, POS, and financial systems enhancements and implementationsCollaborate cross-functionally with human resources, operations, and sales teamsDevelop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and documentationSkillsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of progressive accounting experienceStrong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principlesExperience with month-end close, reconciliations, and general ledger accountingAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including advanced proficiency with pivot tables and v-lookupsExperience with Rippling, NetSuite, and other business management platformsStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environmentBenefitsMedical, Dental & Vision Insurance401(k) PlanPaid Time Off & HolidaysPaid Parental LeaveLife & Disability InsuranceFSA & HSA AccountsComplementary Waxing & Product DiscountsCompany OverviewEWC Growth franchisee European Wax Center works with employees to drive growth.
