[Remote] Sr Statistical Analyst or Statistical Special

American Property Casualty Insurance Association is seeking a Senior Statistical Analyst or Statistical Specialist to fulfill statistical reporting tasks including auditing company submissions and preparing complex reports. The role involves resolving data issues, communicating with subscriber companies, and recommending updates to business procedures.ResponsibilitiesAudit company submissions for edit errors and reasonabilityInvestigate and resolve out of balance conditions and data problemsPrepare external reports and data files, including balancing, auditing, and issue resolutionCommunicate verbally, and in writing, with subscriber companies regarding data problems and solutionsCorrect company data, as directedAdhere to standard processes and completes all required documentationRecommend and document updates to business procedures for preparation of assigned reports, as neededPropose improvements to the business processes and/or technology to improve quality or increase efficiencyApply basic techniques of balancing and auditing in the preparation of external reportsComplete all quality assurance tracking resources for both auditing and report production accurately and timelyReview and approve test results from technology projects for accuracy and completenessAssist in training other analysts on personal productivity tools and basic job functionsTrain team members on specific assignments, statistical techniques, or toolsRespond to special requests and prepares ad-hoc reportsAdhere to standard processes and completes all required documentationComplete balancing and auditing tasks in the preparation of complex and/or summarized external reports and compilationsInterpret insurance data trends and evaluate outcomesLead the production implementation of a new business process, report, or productResearch, modify and test complex edit and project related system changesParticipate in the review of tolerances and definition of new thresholdsInitiate technology project requests, defines detailed business requirements, and approves the functional design of new technology componentsParticipate in communication with regulatory agencies to understand changes, respond to questions, and provide requested informationDevelop and maintain business proceduresSkills3-5 years insurance statistical reporting experience, with or for an insurance company or statistical agencyProficient in business processes, statistical procedures, and ISS 2000(internal tool) for assigned linesProficient in all installed personal computer toolsAbility to multitask in order to complete assignments efficientlyAbility to communicate, both orally and in writing, with all departments within ISS and externally with customersAbility to review complex problems and implement solutionsWorks effectively with team members within the department and across departmentsCompany OverviewThe American Property Casualty Insurance Association (APCIA) is the primary national trade association for home, auto, and business insurers.
