[Remote] Sr Software Engineer - Knowledge Representation (Ontology and ML Engineer)

The Sr Software Engineer focusing on Knowledge Representation will be responsible for applying modern methods for knowledge representation, including ontology creation, to support GHX’s AI strategy in the healthcare supply chain.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with internal and external stakeholders including users, developers, product managers, leadership, etc., to understand needs and challenges and translate these into solutionsLead, design & develop scalable structures and databases to capture, store and query structured, semi-structured and unstructured dataLead, design and maintain ontologies and data architectures to represent complex relationships and entitiesMentor junior engineersIntegrate graph solutions with other data stores and technologiesLeverage LLMs/GenAI and rules engines for data I/O and data curationMultimodal data handling: incorporate text, images, videos, tables, graphs, rules, etc., into the knowledge representation systemProactively explore new techniques and emerging trends to drive adoption of new solutionsDevelop and maintain software tools to support knowledge representation needsImplement tools for evaluating and monitoring solution performanceInvent and deploy novel solutions with maintainable APIs, MCP servers, to suit stakeholder needsAdhere to sound software engineering practicesSkillsMinimum 8 years working as a software engineer or data scientist, 6 years with a Master's degreeExpertise with one or more Graph query languages (SPARQL, Cypher, Gremlin) and the associated Graph DatabasesExperience with Tabular (SQL), Document (NoSQL), and Vector/Semantic databases and their interactions with Graph DBsExpertise with Python & SQLExperience with AWS cloud resources (S3, EC2, ECS, Lambda)Experience with Docker or other container servicesSpecification and creation of APIs and microservicesComputer Science or hard sciences Bachelors degreePassion to stay on the cutting edge in knowledge representation solutionsExperience with Generative AI solutionsSense of humorCompany OverviewGHX is a software-as-a-service company that’s reducing the cost of doing business in healthcare by automating supply chain processes and improving visibility into the products used in patient care.
