The role involves partnering with various teams to improve developer productivity and ensure safe and efficient software delivery.ResponsibilitiesLead the design, implementation, and operation of reliable internal developer platforms and self-service infrastructure provisioning capabilitiesBuild, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and automation across GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, and related technologiesApply Site Reliability Engineering principles, including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and DORA metrics, to improve developer-facing systems and software delivery performanceDrive adoption of engineering best practices, platform standards, and self-service capabilities across multiple engineering teamsDevelop and maintain golden paths, service templates, scaffolding tools, and standardized engineering workflows that accelerate software delivery and reduce operational complexityImprove local development environments, CLI tooling, environment provisioning, preview deployments, and ephemeral environments to enhance developer productivityBuild observability solutions and dashboards that provide visibility into CI/CD health, deployment success, build performance, developer wait times, and platform reliabilityPartner with engineering teams to identify sources of operational toil and implement automation that improves efficiency, reliability, and developer experienceSupport cloud-native workloads and deployment patterns across containers, serverless technologies, and event-driven architecturesTroubleshoot and resolve issues impacting developer workflows, including build failures, test instability, deployment issues, and environment driftCollaborate with Security and Platform Operations teams to embed secure-by-default controls and compliance guardrails into developer workflowsMentor engineers and provide technical guidance on platform architecture, automation strategies, observability, and cloud-native development practicesInfluence platform roadmaps and technical investments through data-driven recommendations and cross-functional collaborationSkills5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, Developer Experience, DevOps, or related engineering disciplinesExperience building and supporting internal developer platforms, self-service infrastructure, or developer toolingStrong hands-on experience with CI/CD technologies, including GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, or similar platformsExperience with AWS cloud services and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or PulumiProficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Go, Bash, TypeScript, or similar languagesExperience working with containerized environments and orchestration technologies including Docker, ECS, and KubernetesFamiliarity with observability practices and tools, including Datadog and application performance monitoring solutionsExperience leading technical initiatives that span multiple teams or product domainsStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to create clear technical documentation, guides, and operational runbooksExperience supporting modern application frameworks and cloud-native architecturesWillingness to participate in an on-call rotation supporting production systems and developer platformsAWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or DevOps EngineerExperience supporting high-scale consumer-facing digital platformsFamiliarity with cloud cost optimization and FinOps practicesExperience with developer portals, service catalogs, or internal platform productsBenefitsComprehensive benefits packageCollaborative and inclusive cultureFlexibility of a remote-first work environmentHealth insuranceRetirement plansPaid time offCompany OverviewVersant Media is a media company that offers television and digital entertainment services.
