The National Science Teaching Association is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead the operational delivery of eCYBERMISSION, a national STEM competition. This role involves planning, coordinating, and executing all phases of the competition cycle while ensuring high-quality experiences for participants, educators, and volunteers.ResponsibilitiesProvide operational leadership, planning, coordination, and execution of the eCYBERMISSION program across the full competition cycleSupervise program staff, including assigning responsibilities, setting priorities, providing coaching and feedback, and supporting professional growthEstablish clear timelines and accountability structures to ensure program milestones are metProvide direction and oversight to vendors and consultants as neededWork with the Director of Competitions to foster a high-performing, mission-driven team environmentLead operational planning and execution of the competition’s national event in collaboration with internal staff, vendors, and stakeholdersManage and coordinate operational aspects of the eCYBERMISSION competition, from launch through awards and post-season reviewManage the competition judging process, including judge recruitment, onboarding, training coordination, scheduling, and supportEnsure judging processes are fair, consistent, and transparent and address issues as they arisePartner with staff and stakeholders to continuously improve judge and participant experienceCoordinate across teams to ensure program components are delivered consistently and on scheduleIdentify operational improvement opportunities and implement approved enhancements to improve program efficiency, scalability, and participant experienceCoordinate implementation of program updates and enhancements developed by education and subject matter staffCollect and analyze program data, feedback, and outcomes to inform planning and decision-makingIdentify risks and operational challenges and develop mitigation strategiesSupport and coordinate educator engagement strategies in collaboration with education content staff to support recruitment, retention, and satisfactionSupport relationship-building with educators, school administrators, partners, volunteers, and internal stakeholdersEnsure messaging and outreach efforts are coordinated, timely, and aligned with program goalsServe as a program representative in meetings, webinars, conferences, and outreach activities as neededDevelop and manage program plans, timelines, and deliverablesMonitor participation data, operational metrics, and program spending against approved budget parameters to support reporting and planningEnsure program operations comply with organizational policies, sponsor requirements, and applicable guidelinesManage program data systems and reporting infrastructure to ensure accuracy, integrity, and accessibilitySupport preparation of reports and program documentation required by sponsorsDocument competition processes and standard operating procedures to improve program consistency and continuityCollaborate with internal teams including Marketing & Communications, Business Development, Technology, and Business Office to support program implementation and deliverablesMaintain strong collaborative working relationships with consortium partners, the U.S. Army, educators, participants, volunteers, and other stakeholdersSupport cross-functional initiatives related to program growth, visibility, and sustainabilitySkillsDemonstrated ability to manage complex operational programs involving multiple stakeholders, timelines, and deliverablesStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret program data and inform operational decision-makingStrong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a focus on process improvement and operational excellenceExperience managing program systems, data tracking, and reporting processesExperience supervising staff and working collaboratively across departments to achieve program goalsAbility to anticipate operational challenges and implement practical solutionsExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education, public administration, nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field6–10 years of progressively responsible experience in program management, project management, or operations leadership, preferably within a nonprofit, education, STEM outreach, or grant-funded environmentDemonstrated experience supervising staff, contractors, or program teams and managing workload distribution to ensure program deliverables are achievedExperience managing large-scale programs or national initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, deadlines, and operational phasesExperience managing program operations within approved budget parameters and collaborating with grant administration and finance teams on financial tracking and reportingDemonstrated experience managing data systems, program metrics, and reporting processes to support program evaluation and operational decision-makingExperience coordinating large events, competitions, or multi-phase programs involving participants, volunteers, or external partnersAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and program data management toolsProficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and TeamsExperience with CRM systems, project management systems, program databases, registration platforms, or participant management systemsStrong ability to analyze program data and generate reports for internal leadership and external stakeholdersAbility to lead teams in a collaborative and mission-driven environmentStrong organizational and operational management skillsDemonstrated ability to manage complex programs with multiple timelines and deliverablesA master's degree is preferredExperience working with federally funded programs, grant-funded initiatives, or government-sponsored programs is strongly
