[Remote] Sr. Network Engineer

This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure reliable network services and providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain enterprise network architectures, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data center connectivityLead and support network modernization initiatives, such as cloud networking, SD-WAN, network automation, and segmentationEnsure network reliability, performance, and scalability through proactive monitoring, capacity planning, and optimizationAct as an escalation point for complex network issues, leading root-cause analysis and permanent remediationCollaborate with security teams to implement and maintain network security controls, including firewalls, VPNs, segmentation, and secure access solutionsDevelop and maintain network documentation, standards, diagrams, and operational runbooksParticipate in change management, ensuring network changes are planned, tested, and executed with minimal riskEvaluate new technologies and vendors, providing architectural recommendations to leadershipMentor junior engineers and contribute to technical knowledge sharing within the teamSupport disaster recovery, business continuity planning, and high-availability designsTravel as necessary to support on-site deployments, audits, and team collaborationOther duties and responsibilities as assignedSkillsBachelor's degree from an accredited institution in MIS, Computer Science, or other related field preferred7+ years of network engineering experience, prior experience in large-scale or enterprise environments preferredRelevant certifications a plus (e.g., CCNP/CCIE, PCNSE, JNCIP, AWS/Azure networking)Advanced experience with routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, STP)Strong knowledge of enterprise networking platforms (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Juniper, Arista, or equivalent)Experience with WAN technologies, including MPLS, SDâWAN, and Internetâbased connectivityDeep understanding of network security concepts, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and zeroâtrust principlesHandsâon experience with cloud networking (Azure, AWS, or GCP â VNET/VPCs, VPN, ExpressRoute/Direct Connect)Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (SNMP, NetFlow, packet capture)Working knowledge of automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Ansible)Strong documentation and diagramming skills (e.g., Visio or equivalent)Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and influence architecture decisionsStrong analytical and problemâsolving skills with a calm approach to incident responseAbility to think and work at both strategic and tactical levels as requiredSpeak to an audience with confidence, using appropriate communication skills/styleAbility to communicate effectively, both in oral and written form, to various audiencesBenefitsWe offer competitive pay, extensive benefits that support you and your family, and exciting career development opportunities.We offer ongoing training and the support you need to succeed.Company OverviewHeadquartered in Sarasota, Florida, IPG is a global provider of packaging and protective solutions across a diversified set of geographies and end-markets.
