They are seeking a dynamic Mechanical Engineer/Program Manager to oversee the design, development, and execution of innovative mechanical engineering projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery while collaborating with cross-functional teams.ResponsibilitiesLead the design, analysis, and optimization of mechanical systems, components, and subsystems, ensuring they meet project requirements and industry standardsDevelop detailed 3D models, CAD drawings, and prototypes for mechanical systems, including mechanisms, thermal systems, structural components, and assembliesPerform engineering analysis, including stress, thermal, and fluid flow analysis, to validate designs and ensure performance, safety, and reliabilityWork closely with cross-functional teams (electrical, software, manufacturing) to ensure integration of mechanical components with other systemsConduct failure analysis and troubleshooting, providing corrective actions for any issues that arise during design, testing, or productionManage the entire lifecycle of mechanical engineering projects, from initial concept and design through prototyping, testing, and final productionDefine program scope, objectives, and deliverables, and establish clear schedules, budgets, and resource plansTrack and report on project progress, proactively managing risks and changes to ensure timely and successful deliveryCoordinate efforts across internal teams and external partners, ensuring alignment and smooth execution across multiple departments and stakeholdersDevelop and maintain detailed project documentation, including engineering specifications, project plans, and progress reportsLead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers, designers, and technicians, providing technical direction and fostering a collaborative environmentServe as the main point of contact between the mechanical engineering team and other departments (e.g., operations, product management, quality assurance)Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to define technical requirements, identify potential challenges, and ensure alignment with project goalsLead design reviews, ensuring designs are aligned with project requirements and standards, and drive improvements based on feedbackDevelop and implement testing protocols to ensure mechanical systems meet quality, performance, and regulatory standardsIdentify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of mechanical design, development, and testingEnsure compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., ASME, ISO, ASTM) and safety regulations throughout the design and manufacturing phasesContribute to the development of best practices for mechanical engineering and project management within the organizationSkillsBachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related fieldMinimum 7-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering and program management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership roleProven experience in designing, developing, and managing mechanical systems or products across multiple stages (concept, design, testing, production)Strong background in mechanical design, CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD), and engineering analysisExcellent program management skills, including the ability to manage schedules, budgets, and risks effectivelyStrong leadership and team management experience, with a proven track record of leading cross-functional teamsExcellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges and find innovative solutionsStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organizationFamiliarity with manufacturing processes, including prototyping, CNC machining, injection molding, and assemblyProfessional certifications (e.g., PMP, PE, or similar)Experience in specific industries such as automotive, aerospace, consumer products, or industrial machineryFamiliarity with simulation tools (e.g., FEA, CFD) for mechanical system design and analysisKnowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologiesBenefitsHealth Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)Retirement Plan (401k, IRA)Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)Family Leave (Maternity, Paternity)Short Term & Long Term DisabilityTraining & DevelopmentWork From HomeWellness ResourcesCompany OverviewStream Data Centers is committed to improving the critical environments experience through exceptional people and service.
