[Remote] Sr Instructional Designer - Enterprise Leadership

The Sr Instructional Designer will design, develop, and implement innovative leadership development programs to enhance leadership capabilities throughout the organization.ResponsibilitiesCreate learning objectives, design documents, storyboards, and other learning design deliverables. Develop learning solutions using project-based templates. Test and debug deliverables for quality assurance. Ensure leaning solutions align with desired outcomesCoach and mentor Associate Instructional Designers and Instructional Designers, including assisting with onboarding new Instructional Designers and lead and facilitate Instructional Designer development on current and emerging learning methodsPartner with Learning Strategy Senior Managers on confirming needs analysis and instructional strategyProject manage individual and team deliverables and proactively communicate milestonesProactively communicate task and project status to client group and managementAssist in the interviewing, selection, and onboarding of contractors and associatesSkillsMust be eighteen years of age or olderMust be legally permitted to work in the United StatesPassionate about development and have advanced experience with applying instructional design and adult learning principles to create instructional courses, assessments, job aids, and other learning deliverablesTrack record of finding innovative approaches to develop people, creating learning solutions that use new approaches, and sharing industry trends with othersExperience working on multiple complex projects simultaneously and creating deliverables for all phases of the course creation lifecycle, including analysis, design, and developmentExperience with Agile Learning Development or the Successive Approximation Model (SAM)Self-driven, collaborative, resourceful, and excellent at project managementExperience coaching and mentoring other Instructional Designers to develop talent and improve the quality of learning solutionsComfortable taking risks, prioritizing work based on business needs, communicating new ideas to a variety of audiences, being a trusted consultant and partner, and propelling current thinking about development to the next levelExcellent communication skills and comfortable communicating through technology (WebEx, Microsoft Teams, etc.)Advanced knowledge of instructional design and adult learning theoriesProficiency with software including Microsoft Office and standard eLearning development toolsProficient knowledge of project management principles and MS ProjectExcellent written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsMaster's degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, HR Development, Organizational Development, I/O Psychology, or related field preferred (or equivalent Home Depot experience)Experience in education or learning field, or similar work experienceExperience creating training deliverables for retail organizationsExperience conducting learning needs analysis and developing curriculum mapsAdvanced knowledge of eLearning development tools and software (i.e., Articulate Storyline/Rise, PowerPoint, etc.)Advanced ability to communicate professionally, provide proper context, and tailor messages to a variety of audiencesAbility to work independently (e.g., project revisions, solving issues as they arise)Ability to be detail-oriented in the development and QA of project work for themselves and othersCompany OverviewThe Home Depot is a retailer of hardware, consumer goods, and DIY supplies both online and offline while providing home delivery services.
