[Remote] Sr Field Engineer (Hyper V) – Cruise Ship Operations

Connection has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Level 3 Network Technician, offering support for enterprise network infrastructure aboard cruise ships. The role involves providing Level 3 support, managing virtualization and server infrastructure, and ensuring operational continuity during shipboard environment migrations.ResponsibilitiesProvide Level 3 support for complex network, server, virtualization, and infrastructure issuesSupport VMware-to-Hyper-V migration initiatives utilizing Veeam technologiesInstall, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco routing, switching, wireless, and firewall environmentsAdminister Microsoft Windows Server environments including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group PolicySupport Hyper-V and VMware virtualization platformsTroubleshoot network performance, connectivity, server, and infrastructure issuesSupport onboard data center operations including rack-and-stack activities, cabling, hardware upgrades, and equipment replacementExecute maintenance activities and infrastructure upgrades with minimal operational impactMaintain technical documentation, procedures, and system configurationsCoordinate with remote engineering teams and client stakeholdersServe as the lead onsite technical representative for ConnectionSkills7+ years of experience supporting enterprise network and infrastructure environmentsProven experience providing Level 3 network and systems supportStrong hands-on expertise with: Cisco networking technologies (routing, switching, wireless, firewalls), Microsoft Windows Server, Hyper-V virtualization, VMware vSphere environments, Active Directory and enterprise infrastructure servicesAdvanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in network and data center environmentsAbility to work independently with limited onsite supervisionExperience supporting production environments with high availability requirementsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong customer service mindset and ability to build positive client relationshipsApplicants must have a Valid U.S PassportMicrosoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator AssociateCompTIA Server+Cisco CCNA or CCNPVeeam Certified Engineer (VMCE)VMware Certified Professional (VCP)Company OverviewAs a Global IT Solutions Provider, we connect people with technology that enhances growth, elevates productivity, and empowers innovation.
