They are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a Cloud engineering team, ensuring operational excellence and delivery of high-quality services while coaching engineers and collaborating with product management.ResponsibilitiesLead and manage a team of engineers working on Redpanda Cloud, including Agentic Data Plane effortsOwn end-to-end delivery for your team's roadmap: scoping, prioritisation, execution, and on-time, high-quality launchesMaintain a high bar bar for operational excellence, including incident response, on-call health, SLOs, and day-2 operationsProvide regular career development, coaching, and performance feedback that helps engineers level upHire, onboard, and retain top-tier engineers; participate actively in interview loops and calibrationsPartner with Product Management to shape the team's roadmap and translate product priorities into clear engineering plansSurface risks, dependencies, and trade-offs earlyBe data driven to to identify what's working and where to investCollaborate with the Customer Success and Solutions Engineering to unblock customers and prioritise our roadmapSkills7+ years of experience in software engineering, including building and operating enterprise-grade SaaS platforms3+ years of experience managing highly technical engineering teams, with a track record of deliveryExpertise in cloud infrastructure and operations, with hands-on experience in public clouds (AWS/GCP/Azure), Kubernetes, and distributed systemsFamiliarity with agentic AI processes, and AI-assisted software development lifecyclesExperience translating product priorities into team plans and delivering predictably against themEagerness to thrive in a fast growing, dynamic environment and comfortable working remotely with a distributed teamStrong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated technical leadershipA strong sense of empathy for both customers and teammates, and a commitment to building high-trust teamsGolang proficiency or recent hands-on technical experienceExpertise in Linux systems used to run and operate production-grade servicesHands-on experience with data streaming platforms, AI/ML infrastructure, databases, or distributed storage systems at scaleExperience enabling teams to adopt AI code generation tools in ways that measurably improve velocity while maintaining qualityCompany OverviewRedpanda is pioneering the agentic data plane — AI infrastructure to connect agents with enterprise data and systems simply and securely.
