The Sr. Engineer, Software is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting enterprise applications and cloud-native software platforms while providing technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.ResponsibilitiesServe as technical lead for application engineering initiatives and provide architectural guidance across software delivery teamsDefine and maintain software engineering standards, coding standards, design patterns, secure development practices, and application architecture principlesLead design reviews, code reviews, technical solution reviews, and modernization initiativesMentor Software Engineers and Developers while promoting engineering excellence and continuous improvementDesign and develop modern cloud-native applications utilizing .NET, C#, React, APIs, microservices, containerized workloads, and Azure platform servicesDesign and support API-first architectures, event-driven architectures, service-oriented architectures, and enterprise integration patternsPartners with Data Engineering teams to develop applications and services supporting analytics, automation, machine learning, and AI-enabled business solutionsSupport integration of AI capabilities including Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Services, intelligent automation platforms, agent-based solutions, workflow automation, and modern user experiencesEnsure applications adhere to security, compliance, observability, performance, scalability, resiliency, and operational standardsParticipate in architecture roadmaps, modernization of application architecture, modernization strategies, platform evaluations, and emerging technology assessmentsCollaborate with analysts, developers, programmers, and designers in conceptualizing and development of software programs and applicationsAnalyze and assess existing business systems and proceduresDefine, develop, and document software’s business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and departmentsDesign, develop, document, and implement new applications and application enhancements according to business and technical requirementsAssist in defining software development project plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementationResearch, identify, analyze, design, and fulfill requirements of all internal and external program usersRecommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgradesConsistently design, write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specificationsWrite new and modify existing programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or performance of company applications as necessaryLiaise with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systemsDesign, run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debuggingAdminister critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areasGenerate statistics and write reports for management and/or team members on the status of the programming processLiaise with vendors for efficient implementation of new software products or systems and for resolution of any adaptation issuesConduct research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development effortsCode reviews and mentoring of less experienced development staff on an as needed basis to ensure conformity to company standard practicesDevelop and maintain technical documentation and development guidelinesTrain end users to operate new or modified programsInstall software products for end users as requiredOn-call availability and some travel may be requiredParticipate in, adhere to, and support compliance, people and culture, and learning programsPerform other duties as assignedSkillsBachelor's degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or software engineering required8+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Full Stack Development, Application Architecture, or related disciplines required5+ years of experience developing enterprise applications using C#, .NET, APIs, and modern front-end frameworks such as React requiredExperience designing cloud-native applications, microservices, event-driven architectures, and API-first platforms requiredExcellent understanding of coding methods and best practicesWorking knowledge or experience with source control tools such as TFS and GitHubHands-on experience developing test cases and test plansExperience with Agile methodologies and Agile project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, etcWorking knowledge or experience with cloud-first, API-first and microservice architecture and or strategiesWorking knowledge or experience with
