They are seeking a Sr. Accountant to manage the financial close process, prepare financial statements, and identify process improvements within the healthcare sector.ResponsibilitiesEnsures accurate and timely general ledger classification and coding of expenses for all NHC locationsReviews pass-through expenses billed by NHC provider partners for accuracy, appropriateness, and timely payment processingPerforms monthly/quarterly/annual actual vs budget reconciliations with NHC provider partners and affiliated entities for settlement of balancesMonitors medical supplies, IT supplies and other significant expenses to identify any unusual fluctuationsCollect, organize, and analyze health center cost data, including operational, clinical, and administrative costsPerform cost analysis to assess the financial performance of various health center departments and provider partner servicesPrepares monthly consolidated financial statements for NHC in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Analyzes and reports on various ledger accounts including trends, costs, and other factors to ensure variances are identified and explained appropriatelyPrepare actual vs budget financial reports after month-end, year-end close and as neededCollaborate with internal and external partners to gather necessary information to prepare, analyze and record transactions related to assets, liabilities, revenue and expense to the general ledgerPrepare month end journal entries in accordance with GAAP and promptly identify and resolve reconciling itemsAssists with annual NHC budget preparationDesigns and develops ad hoc financial and operational reportsPrepares various regulatory filings, including business license and permit renewals, property tax, and others as requiredPrepare and update rent and CAM schedules for NHC provider partners and the pension fund in accordance with lease and sublease agreementsPerforms quarterly CAM reconciliations and prepares monthly billing of rent and CAM to NHC provider partners and the pension fundReviews and/or prepares assigned journal entries for ASC842 technical treatment of leases and on-going maintenance for all NHC locationsAssists with developing, documenting, and updating accounting policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for health centersIdentify areas of process improvement within the health center operations and finance/accounting to enhance workflow efficiency and effectivenessSupport the Accounting Supervisor on various health center projects and coordinate with all stakeholdersAssist with the review and development of the NHC’s internal control structureSkills5 ~ 7 years of direct experience as an Accountant minimum2 ~ 3 years of experience working as an Accountant in a healthcare settingBachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field or equivalent work experience requiredThorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Experience with performing General Ledger, posting journal entries, preparation of financial statements, and other accounting functionsMaster's degree or CPA license preferredPublic accounting experience, preferably from a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm preferredKnowledge of a range of automated financial systems and applications software (i.e. Sage Intacct, Adaptive, Yooz, Concur) or equivalent preferredPrefers Healthcare industry experience, (Clinics, Hospitals and Health Plans)BenefitsMedicalDentalVisionPaid Time-Off (PTO)Paid Holidays401(k)Short- & Long-term DisabilityLifeAD&DFlexible Spending Accounts (healthcare & dependent care)Commuter TransitTuition AssistanceEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Company OverviewCulinary Health Center is a community health center that provides eye, dental, primary care for adults, and pediatric services.
