The Senior Accountant role involves managing all aspects of accounting, financial audits, and internal management reporting for Oracle’s Corporate Accounting team, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and local regulations.ResponsibilitiesManage monthly and quarterly close cycles, ensuring that US GAAP financial reporting is performed timely, in accordance with corporate close guidelines, consolidating all Oracle entities, preparing journal entries, reviewing income statement activity and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the financial statementsDevelop and drive the process of intercompany reconciliation between Oracle legal entitiesManage accounting entries for various prevailing integration reorganizations of Oracle companiesReview the account reconciliations of all the corporate entities for reasonableness and appropriatenessPreparation of Balance Sheet and P&L flux analysis of the assigned Corporate legal entitiesSupport the Financial Controllers in the regions with day-to-day activities to ensure compliance with Oracle’s policies and US GAAP reporting standardsPrepare quarterly schedules for SEC 10Q/10K filings by collaborating with Financial Controllers globally. Support the External Reporting team in preparing the quarterly reportsCollaborate with Global Finance Organizations including, Global Business Finance, Tax, Treasury and LegalResponsibility for the preparation and audit management of the statutory financial statements for assigned Corporate legal entitiesWork closely with external local auditors to get the audit completed within statutory timelines in Ireland and SwitzerlandParticipate in Global & Regional strategic initiatives that optimize and enhance the operations of the Chief Accounting Officer organizationAbility to research past transactions and interpret past events and future treatmentSupport Internal Audit and SOX PMO on the assessment of internal controls, implementing recommendations, reinforcing controls for deficiency and maintaining updated documentation on local processesActs as a reference for team members, providing direction and mentoring to other members of the organizationCollaboration with Tax organization on tax authority information requests and auditsImplement best practice system processes and controls for the Corporation and legal entities to comply with all internal and external financial reporting obligationsSkillsProfessional Accounting Qualification, CPA or equivalent is requiredBS in Accounting / BS in Business with major in AccountingBetween 3-5 years of relevant progressive experience in the technology sector with multinational companies/Fortune 500, or public accounting experience in a top 10 accounting firmGood understanding across the breadth of finance responsibilities including, accounting, revenue recognition, treasury, tax, business practices, etcProficient user in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft ExcelKnowledge and experience with US GAAP accounting, finance and tax regulations. Knowledge and experience of ASC 830 (formerly known as SFAS 52)Project Management capabilities – the ability to plan, initiate, monitor and implement projects within a teamA proactive self-starter with a desire to learn, innovative inquisitive mindset and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyDynamic, innovative & problem resolution focused, troubleshooting and analytical skillsResults oriented, ability to multi-task and can thrive in a deadline driven environmentAbility to immerse oneself to understand problems and propose solutionsStrong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills to interact with various levels of managementAbility to effectively work in a multi-location organization and adapt to different culturesAbility to identify and execute operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives to improve resource optimizationPreference to be available to work Pacific TimeExperience in corporate accounting, consolidation process and intercompany preferredMBA is a plusKnowledge and experience of ERP systems.
