[Remote] SQL & Power BI Developer

Newbury Partners is a consulting firm that specializes in helping staffing and recruiting companies optimize their technology, particularly Bullhorn CRM. They are looking for a SQL & Power BI Developer to create reports, dashboards, and data models that assist clients in making informed decisions based on data analysis.

Responsibilities
• Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, views, and stored procedures
• Build and refine relational data models (fact/dimension structures)
• Support ETL processes and troubleshoot data quality issues
• Design reports and dashboards that clients actually use
• Build semantic models and DAX measures for KPIs, trends, and financial reporting
• Optimize for performance—both query speed and user experience
• Manage dataset refreshes and data source connections
• Partner with BI Architects on solution design
• Translate business requirements into technical specs
• Document logic clearly (your future self and teammates will thank you)

Skills
• 1–4 years working with SQL (joins, aggregations, optimization)
• Hands-on Power BI and DAX experience
• Comfort connecting Power BI to SQL Server data sources
• Curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to explain technical work to non-technical people
• Microsoft Fabric or Azure Data Factory exposure
• Data warehousing concepts (star schema, slowly changing dimensions)
• Git or any source control experience
• Row-level security implementation
