[Remote] SQL Data Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Mondo is looking for a SQL Data Engineer to handle data integrity issues and migrations across enterprise-scale systems. The role involves writing complex SQL queries, performing ETL activities, and collaborating with various teams to optimize database performance.ResponsibilitiesInvestigate and resolve data integrity issues within large production databasesWrite and execute complex SQL queries across highly relational data modelsDevelop validation scripts and reporting to identify impacted records and data anomaliesDesign, test, and execute data correction and remediation scriptsLead and support data migration initiatives, including schema mapping and transformation logicPerform ETL activities, data mapping, and data quality validationAnalyze and reconstruct missing or corrupted data when necessaryCollaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and Engineering teams to understand application data flowsOptimize database performance and troubleshoot production issuesMaintain migration runbooks, playbooks, and technical documentationParticipate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and deployment planningSkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of professional experience working with relational databasesExpert-level SQL Server experienceAdvanced SQL skills including complex JOINs, CTEs, window functions, query optimization, and indexing strategiesExperience writing and executing safe bulk UPDATE, INSERT, and DELETE scripts in production environmentsProven experience with data migration projects, schema mapping, transformation logic, and validation processesExperience working with XML data and querying XML within SQL environmentsStrong ETL and data quality validation experienceExperience working with Git/GitHub and JiraFamiliarity with cloud platforms, preferably AzureAbility to quickly learn and navigate large, unfamiliar database schemasStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsSelf-starter capable of working independently with limited documentation and guidanceStrong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracyExperience with data reconstruction and forensic data investigationExperience within tax, government, financial services, or other regulated industriesFamiliarity with Azure SQL Managed InstanceExposure to VB.NET, ASP.NET, C#, Entity Framework, Dapper, or ADO.NETExperience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)Experience supporting SaaS or hosted application environmentsUnderstanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automationBenefitsThis role is eligible to enroll in both Mondo's health insurance plan and retirement plan.Mondo defers to the applicable State or local law for paid sick leave eligibilityCompany OverviewMondo is a staffing firm that focuses and specializes on niche IT, Tech, and digital marketing.
