As a Software Engineer focusing on Quality Assurance and SDET, you will ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of healthcare technology solutions by developing automated testing frameworks and championing quality engineering best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts for web, API, and backend applications to ensure product quality and regression coverageCollaborate with software engineers, product owners, and analysts to understand functional requirements, design test strategies, and write detailed test plansIntegrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to facilitate continuous testing and rapid deployment cyclesDiagnose, debug, and troubleshoot complex software defects, documenting detailed bug reports and tracking them to resolutionIdentify opportunities for test automation, performance testing, and security scanning, and implement modern quality engineering tools and patternsAnalyze test coverage and test execution metrics, providing quality reports and recommendations to team leadershipParticipate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and Agile ceremonies to ensure quality is integrated at every stage of the lifecycleDesign, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions to address complex business challenges with emphasis on responsible use of AISkills5+ years of experience working within an Agile/Scrum development team and using tools like Jira or Azure DevOps3+ years of experience in testing RESTful APIs and working with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured)2+ years of professional software engineering and/or test automation development experience with tools like: Selenium, Playright and something similar2+ years of experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Java, C#, or JavaScript/TypeScript2+ years of experience in designing, writing, and executing automated test suites using frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or CucumberBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)Experience in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)Exposure to testing cloud-based applications (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)Experience with performance and load testing tools such as JMeter, Locust, or K6Familiarity with database technologies and writing SQL queries to verify data integrityKnowledge of containerization technologies like Docker or KubernetesAll Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter PolicyBenefitsA comprehensive benefits packageIncentive and recognition programsEquity stock purchase401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements)Flexibility to telecommute from anywhere within the U.S.Company OverviewWe’re evolving health care so everyone can have the opportunity to live their healthiest life.
