[Remote] Software Engineer - Integrations

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee is seeking a Software Engineer – Integrations to join their Enterprise Services API Support team. In this role, you will build and support enterprise APIs, collaborating with application teams to design integration solutions and maintain production environments.ResponsibilitiesFormulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to design, develop, modify, or integrate complex information systemsDevises or modifies application systems and procedures to optimize functional requirements including capacity, operating time, response time, and form of desired resultsDesigns, codes, tests, debugs, and documents programs, subroutines, and scriptsMay serve one or more project team roles, such as project lead, business systems analyst, or technical lead, for small to medium efforts or manage phases of medium to large effortsMaintains technical skill set for software languages, databases, platforms, operating systems, utilities and networks needed to support work assignmentsResponds to system failures and performance events by taking appropriate measures to reduce system downtime and eliminate recurrence of problemsRegularly provides guidance and training to less-experienced analysts/programmersSkillsBachelor's Degree in a Computer Sciences related field or equivalent work experience. Equivalent experience is defined as 4 years of professional work experience in a corporate environment3 years - Systems and programming experience required1 year - Experience with information technology concepts, application development methodology, terminology, and standards required1 year - Expert working knowledge of at least one programming language in use at BCBSTProven technical background with a history of designing and documenting integration solutions, ensuring interoperability, security, and performanceProficient in programming languages and tools relevant to integration and application developmentExperienced in API design, development, and managementProven analysis, design, and coding skills, and demonstrated success in leading large and complex projectsDemonstrated ability to interpret and translate technical and/or or complex concepts into information meaningful to project team members and/or business personnelBe organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple tasks with exceptional work ethicLeadership skills: Must be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical co-workersExperience within the healthcare industry is preferred and will help you quickly add value in this environmentCompany OverviewAs Tennessee's largest health plan, we've been helping Tennesseans find their own unique paths to good health for more than 70 years.
