The role involves designing and delivering intelligent services powered by AI innovation, focusing on building scalable microservices and integrating advanced AI technologies.ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain scalable microservices and APIs that power AI capabilities across core solutions and offeringsDevelop Generative AI pipelines using frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, and MCP-based integrations to enable context-aware reasoning and action orchestrationCollaborate with ML engineers and data scientists to integrate and operationalize models from providers like OpenAI and AnthropicDesign and deploy ML models that drive predictive insights, anomaly detection, and automated decision-makingDesign and extend MCP servers to define, expose, and manage tools accessible to LLMsImplement continuous evaluation and retraining workflows to ensure models remain accurate and relevant as business data evolvesWork closely with platform teams to align ML and GenAI components with enterprise standards for security, reliability, and performanceEnsure scalability, performance, and security of AI workloads in multi-tenant cloud environments (AWS, Kubernetes)Participate in architecture reviews and define MCP-compliant interfaces for consistent, safe model–tool interactionsSkills5+ years of software engineering experience, with exposure to AI/ML and backend platform developmentProficiency in Python, TypeScript, or JavaScript, with strong coding and debugging skillsHands-on experience with cloud and container technologies such as AWS, Docker, and KubernetesFamiliarity with AI orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI) and GenAI design patterns such as RAG, ReAct, and agent-based reasoningExperience building or integrating MCP servers to manage tools, context, and state across LLMs and external systemsExpertise with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, etc.) and multi-model orchestrationStrong foundation in API design, microservice architecture, and event-driven systemsKnowledge of authentication and security standards, including OAuth2, JWT, and secure coding practicesExperience with databases such as PostgreSQL or DynamoDBPassion for building intelligent platforms that leverage AI to improve efficiency, reliability, and automationBS/MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experienceDemonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your current role as well as data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvementExperience with additional AI/ML frameworks or cloud platformsExposure to insurance technology or enterprise SaaS environmentsContributions to open-source AI/ML projectsExperience with ethical AI and governance best practicesBenefitsFlexible work environment, including hybrid options.Comprehensive health and wellness benefits.Paid time off programs, including volunteer time off.Market-competitive pay and incentive programs.Continual development and internal career growth opportunities.All full-time positions or part-time roles working 30 hours or more a week at Guidewire are eligible for benefits that support their health and well-being including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a company sponsored retirement plan.Some roles may be eligible for the annual company bonus plan, commissions, and/or long term incentive awards which are contingent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, company and employee performance.Company OverviewGuidewire Software provides core back-end systems software to the global property, casual and worker's compensation insurance industry.
