The Software Engineer III will write high-quality code, independently deliver full features, and mentor junior engineers while influencing system-level decisions.ResponsibilitiesWrite high-quality code that anticipates edge cases and builds for scaleIndependently deliver full features, handling ambiguity with confidenceOwn significant components, driving bug resolution and monitoring strategyProvide clear written feedback through code reviews and explain technical tradeoffs effectivelyInfluence local designs and mentor 1–2 junior engineersMake technical tradeoffs with business context in mind and escalate concerns earlySupport team members and participate in hiring or onboarding activitiesSkillsBachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred3+ years of applicable experienceSolid proficiency in front-end and/or back-end modern web developmentDemonstrated ability to independently deliver features with minimal guidanceStrong problem-solving skills with an ability to anticipate edge casesGood written and verbal communication skills, particularly in code review contextsAbility to work effectively in ambiguous situations and make informed technical decisionsFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and production deployment practicesExperience with our tech stack: Go, Java, TypeScript, Angular, AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools like CircleCIBackground in education technology or mission-driven industriesFamiliarity with accessible design principles and practicesBenefitsAn annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation packageA full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offeredCompany OverviewWe are a leading global education company that partners with millions of educators, learners and professionals around the world.
