[Remote] Software Engineer II, Cloud Infrastructure

As a Software Engineer II on the Cloud Infrastructure team, you will focus on the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) initiative, ensuring multi-region infrastructure resilience while collaborating with teams across the organization.ResponsibilitiesMaintain and evolve Brex’s core cloud infrastructure, including Kubernetes (EKS), RDS/Postgres, and networking foundationsContribute to the multi-year BCDR initiative by implementing multi-region infrastructure readiness and automated failover capabilitiesDrive technical excellence across the stack, utilizing tools like Terraform, Docker, Flux, and Go to automate and improve infrastructure lifecycleCollaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure seamless adoption of new infrastructure capabilities and support migrationsParticipate in the team’s on-call rotation and contribute to improving our incident response frameworks and system reliabilityFoster a culture of technical excellence by improving work tracking, documentation, and operational best practicesSkillsProven experience with cloud infrastructure foundations, specifically Kubernetes and PostgresExperience with incident response and maintaining highly available production systemsStrong hands-on experience with AWS services and infrastructure-at-scaleStrong communication skills with the ability to coordinate complex changes across multiple autonomous engineering teamsProfessional experience in software or systems engineering, with a focus on building scalable systemsExperience using Terraform to manage complex, multi-account environmentsPrior experience with BCDR planning, multi-region rollouts, or disaster recovery frameworksBackground in cloud infrastructure cost optimization or database performance tuningExperience with Go, as it is a core part of our tech stackBenefitsWe are a hybrid environment that combines the energy and connections of being in the office with the benefits and flexibility of working from home.We currently require a minimum of three coordinated days in the office per week: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.As a perk, we also have up to four weeks per year of fully remote work.Company OverviewBrex is a financial service and technology company that provides business credit cards and cash management accounts.
