[Remote] Software Engineer, Content Engineering (AI Content Orchestration)

In this role, you will build and maintain backend services for an AI-powered orchestration layer that processes video content, ensuring efficient delivery and integration with machine learning models.ResponsibilitiesPower the Orchestration Engine: Build the backend services that manage the lifecycle of an AI-generated clip, from beginning to final deliveryBridge Systems: Create the interfaces that connect advanced ML workflows with core Video Ops and Encoding pipelinesScale Content Intelligence: Ensure our metadata and payload delivery systems can handle the automated processing of thousands of hours of video dailyFeature Ownership: Design and implement backend orchestration solutions, focusing on high-quality API design and service reliabilityService Orchestration: Build and manage asynchronous workers, queues, and event-driven architectures that handle video processing tasks and complex workflowsAPI & Interface Development: Develop robust APIs that provide critical metadata and payloads to downstream discovery systems and video infrastructureSystem Integration: Partner with core video teams to ensure seamless handoffs of video assets and processing signalsProduction Excellence: Participate in code reviews and design discussions, applying good technical judgment to improve the scalability and observability of our servicesML in Production: integrate ML models into production pipelines, focusing on low-latency inference and reliable data deliverySkills3+ years of experience in backend software engineering or distributed systemsSolid proficiency in Python (or similar backend languages) and experience building and scaling production APIsExperience with asynchronous messaging, task queues, and background workersSolid knowledge of SQL, database design, and data modeling for high-volume systemsProven ability to own features autonomously from design to deployment delivering clean, maintainable codeFamiliarity with Cloud Architecture (GCP preferred) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)Experience or solid interest in Video/Media Processing (e.g. video encoding, FFmpeg, or metadata standards)Basic knowledge of how to serve machine learning model outputs via APIsExperience working with agentic AI workflows or complex microservice orchestrationBenefitsMedicalDentalVision401(k) planLife insurance coverageDisability benefitsTuition assistance programPTOBonus eligibleGenerous paid time offOpportunities for both on-site and virtual engagement eventsUnique opportunities to make meaningful connections and build a vibrant community, both inside and outside the workplaceCompany OverviewParamount is a leading media and entertainment company that creates premium content and experiences for audiences worldwide.
