They are seeking Software Engineers to enhance their FDA-cleared IoT medical device product, Athelas Home, which utilizes machine learning to analyze blood samples and improve patient diagnostics.ResponsibilitiesDevelopment of existing backend and frontend services for the Athelas device product: improving our infrastructure, architecting and building robust, scalable back-end serviceTranslate product requirements into technical solutionsImplementation of cybersecurity best practices throughout the software development lifecycleCollaborate with engineering, operations, quality, and regulatory functions to ensure that production software systems meet both operational, security, and regulatory requirementsUtilize a stack comprising Python, Flask, React, Postgres, Kubernetes, DockerApply problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently, ensuring the stability and performance of our systemsEstablish and enforce best practices for code quality, testing, and deploymentSkillsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent extensive experience requiredProfessional software engineering experience required, proficiency in PythonDeep expertise in developing and managing data pipelines and experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational database management systemsAdvanced knowledge in Containerization and Cloud Services (Docker, Kubernetes)A strategic thinker with a builder's mindset, passionate about high-impact projectsDemonstrated expertise in building, scaling, and maintaining sophisticated production environmentsAdvanced skills in system monitoring, alerting, reporting, metrics tracking, and software reliability engineeringAn exceptional sense of product development with a keen focus on user experience and customer needsA commitment to ongoing personal and professional developmentExperience or interest in embedded software engineering – developing application software for embedded systems (Linux-based IoT medical device). Note: This is application software development on embedded hardware, not low-level firmware engineeringExperience or interest in the design, training, and optimization of computer vision models for blood diagnostics, including object detection and classification models.
