Remote Social Worker - Community Outreach Specialist
Our client is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Remote Social Worker to serve as a Community Outreach Specialist. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to make a significant impact from the comfort of your own home, serving individuals and families in need within the Omaha, Nebraska community and beyond. You will be instrumental in connecting vulnerable populations with essential social services, advocacy, and support resources.
Responsibilities: Conduct virtual client assessments to identify needs and eligibility for social programs. Develop individualized service plans in collaboration with clients. Provide crisis intervention and emotional support through secure video conferencing and phone calls. Connect clients with community resources, including healthcare, housing assistance, food banks, and employment services. Facilitate virtual support groups and educational workshops. Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with ethical standards and agency policies. Advocate on behalf of clients with various agencies and service providers. Engage in proactive community outreach through digital platforms to raise awareness of available services. Collaborate with a team of remote professionals to share best practices and support ongoing professional development. Stay informed about relevant legislation, social policies, and community resources. Qualifications: Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution. Current state licensure (LCSW, LMSW, or equivalent) in Nebraska or the ability to obtain it. Proven experience in social work, case management, or community outreach. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust virtually. Proficiency in using telehealth platforms (e.g., Zoom, doxy.me), electronic health records (EHR), and standard office software. Strong understanding of social welfare systems, community resources, and relevant legal frameworks. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain motivation in a remote setting. Empathy, resilience, and a strong commitment to social justice and client empowerment. Experience in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques is highly desirable. A reliable internet connection and a dedicated, private workspace are required for this remote role.
