[Remote] Social Media Specialist

The Social Media Specialist will support the development and growth of a social media presence by creating and managing content that promotes awareness and engagement across key audiences. Responsibilities Develop and implement a social media strategy aligned with organizational goals and priorities Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram) Collaborate with staff to highlight programs, research, events, and success stories Ensure content reflects accessibility best practices (e.g., alt text, captioning, inclusive language) Monitor social media channels, respond to comments/messages as appropriate, and foster community engagement Stay current on social media trends, tools, and best practices, particularly related to accessibility and inclusion Maintain brand voice and consistency across both organizations Skills Experience with social media accounts Strong storytelling skills Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive communication practices preferred Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines Interest in or knowledge of disability inclusion, employment, or public policy is a plus Company Overview The Heravi Peace Institute empowers USU students, faculty, and staff by cultivating the necessary character, knowledge, and skills to constructively transform conflict and build peace.
