[Remote] Social Media Associate

Right To Be is a nonprofit organization focused on social justice, and they are seeking a creative and organized Social Media Associate to manage their social media platforms. This role involves executing social media content, supporting audience engagement, and assisting with digital communications to elevate the organization's programs and campaigns.ResponsibilitiesCreate and adapt visual assets using existing templates and brand guidelines, tailoring content for platform-specific audiences and formatsSchedule and publish content across Right To Be's social media platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, Bluesky, and YouTubeSupport day-to-day social media operations and content calendar managementAssist with drafting captions, social copy, and platform-specific messagingMonitor comments, direct messages, and audience engagement, escalating responses when neededSupport live coverage of campaigns, events, webinars, and organizational moments as neededHelp maintain consistent brand voice and messaging across platformsCreate and edit short-form video content for social media, including clipping long-form content, resizing assets, adding captions, formatting content for platform-specific requirements, and preparing videos for publicationSupport the execution of approved rapid response content by adapting copy for social media, preparing assets, scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and implementing approved communications plansAssist with identifying timely social media trends, opportunities, and relevant conversationsSupport content gathering and organization, including graphics, videos, quotes, and campaign assetsCollaborate with internal teams to help amplify organizational priorities, campaigns, and partnershipsAssist with basic reporting and tracking of social media performance metricsHelp ensure accessibility best practices across digital content, including alt text and captioningParticipate in team meetings and planning sessions as neededSupport workflow organization and content management processesAssist with maintaining social media archives and digital assetsSkills1-2 years of experience supporting social media management, digital communications, or content creationStrong written communication skills with an ability to adapt tone across platformsFamiliarity with major social media platforms and social media management toolsHighly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasksComfort working collaboratively in a remote environmentExperience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or basic video editing toolsFamiliarity with accessibility practices in digital communicationsExperience supporting nonprofit, advocacy, or mission-driven organizationsUnderstanding of online harassment, digital safety, or movement-building communicationsPassion for social justice, community engagement, and Right To Be's missionBenefitsA Monthly Health Care Stipend to cover health insurance costsA work laptop & other necessary equipmentGenerous Paid Time off (PTO, Wellness Leave, a week off between Christmas and New Years, Summer Fridays, and all major holidays)Please note all that benefits are subject to change at the discretion of Right To BeCompany OverviewAt Right To Be, we help organizations, communities, and brands respond to one of todayβs biggest challenges: how to create environments where people feel safe, respected, and able to fully participate.
