[Remote] SLED Account Executive

They are seeking a SLED Account Executive to own and grow their public sector business by identifying and developing new opportunities across state and local government, K-12 school districts, and higher education institutions.ResponsibilitiesOwn a SLED territory and develop a strategic plan to drive net new logo acquisition across state and local government, K-12, and higher educationBuild pipeline through outbound prospecting, partner engagement, attendance at regional public sector events, and leveraging existing relationships in the SLED communityNavigate public sector procurement processes including cooperative purchasing vehicles (TIPS, OMNIA, E-Rate, DIR, and others), RFPs, and sole-source opportunitiesDevelop relationships with IT directors, CIOs, CTOs, superintendents, and other key decision-makers across your target accountsCollaborate with channel partners, VARs, and public sector-focused resellers to source and close opportunities throughout the regionWork closely with Sales Engineers to deliver technically credible evaluations and demonstrations tailored to the unique requirements of public sector environmentsMaintain accurate pipeline, opportunity, and forecast data in SalesforceStay current on regional legislation, funding initiatives, cybersecurity mandates, and compliance requirements relevant to public sector security buyersRepresent iboss at SLED-focused conferences, trade shows, and regional eventsSkills4+ years of quota-carrying sales experience, with at least 2 years focused on SLED accountsA genuine hunter with a demonstrated ability to open new accounts and build pipeline independently in the public sector marketDeep familiarity with public sector procurement — cooperative contracts, E-Rate, RFP processes, and state-specific purchasing vehiclesExperience selling through and with channel partners in a public sector sales motionUnderstanding of cybersecurity, network security, or cloud security concepts — familiarity with Zero Trust, SASE, or web filtering is a strong advantageStrong relationship-building skills and the ability to navigate the political dynamics common in government and education environmentsHigh sense of urgency, strong organizational habits, and a disciplined approach to territory and pipeline managementProficiency with Salesforce or comparable CRMPrior experience selling cybersecurity, SaaS, or cloud infrastructure solutions into SLED accountsEstablished relationships with IT and security leaders at state agencies, school districts, or universities across Texas and the broader TOLA regionFamiliarity with E-Rate funding and how it applies to network security and filtering solutionsExperience with Texas DIR contracts or other regional cooperative purchasing mechanismsBachelor's degree or equivalent professional experienceBenefitsUncapped earning potential with a competitive base and commission structureComprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)Remote-first flexibility with strong internal support for public sector pursuitsDirect access to leadership and meaningful input on regional go-to-market strategyCompany Overviewiboss is a cloud security company that provides network security as a service, delivered in the cloud, and as a complete SaaS offering.
