CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield is seeking a Senior Workday Procurement Integration Engineer to play a critical role in transforming their Procurement technology landscape. This position involves leading the design, development, and support of procurement technology solutions, while ensuring compliance with integration standards and governance policies.ResponsibilitiesLead design and development of Workday Procurement integrations (Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, APIs)Architect and support integrations between: Workday Procurement Finance (AP/GL), Workday external supplier systems, punchout catalogs, and marketplaces, Legacy systems including SAP Ariba and Oracle FinancialsDefine and implement event-driven and batch integration patterns using middleware (e.g., Boomi, Mulesoft, OCI Integration)Support migration strategy from Ariba to Workday ProcurementAnalyze current-state Ariba configurations (Sourcing, Contracts, Buying, Invoicing) and map to Workday capabilitiesLead data conversion and supplier master migration strategiesProvide L3 support for procurement integrations and interfacesTroubleshoot integration failures, data inconsistencies, and performance issuesPartner with business teams on enhancements and continuous improvementEnable touchless PO processing, catalog automation, and supplier onboarding integrationsOptimize approval workflows and policy-driven routing aligned with procurement governanceSupport integration of contract lifecycle management and sourcing toolsEstablish integration standards, coding practices, and documentation frameworksEnsure compliance with security, audit, and data governance policies (PII/PHI restrictions)Participate in CAB, release management, and production deploymentsSkillsBachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science OR In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience8+ years of experience in Procurement systems engineering / ERP integrationsHands-on experience with: Workday Procurement integrations (Studio, EIB, APIs) and SAP Ariba (Buying, Sourcing, Contracts, Invoicing)Strong experience in integration platforms (Boomi, MuleSoft, OCI, or similar)Deep understanding of: Procure-to-Pay (P2P) lifecycle and Supplier integrations and catalog enablementExperience with REST/SOAP APIs, XML/JSON, SFTP, event-based integrationsDeep understanding of source-to-pay (S2P) lifecycle and procurement best practicesExperience with enterprise integration patterns, REST/SOAP APIs, IDoc/XML, middleware tools (Boomi, MuleSoft, or Oracle Integration Cloud)Strong scripting, data transformation, and troubleshooting skillsWorking knowledge of ERP financial integration touchpoints (GL, AP, PO, Vendor Master)Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to evaluate existing systems and propose scalable, future-ready solutionsFamiliarity with security, compliance, and audit requirements in regulated environmentsAbility to communicate technical requirements to all levels of expertiseStrong stakeholder communication across Procurement, Finance, and ITAbility to lead cross-functional initiatives in a fusion team modelProblem-solving mindset with focus on automation and scalabilityKnowledge and understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC)Comfortable working in hybrid agile/waterfall environments and managing competing prioritiesProficient with integrating complex and/or existing systemsKnowledge of programming languages (e.g. JavaScript, C, Python, etc.)Excellent communication skills both written and verbalKnowledge of cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, Azure)Knowledge of database technologies (e.g. cloud, SQL, Oracle, Mongo DB, PostgreSQL, etc.)Fundamental knowledge of software engineers, best practices, agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelinesKnowledge of test-first practices including Test-Driven Development (TDD) for unit tests and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) for automated acceptance testsStrong experience with Deployment/Continuous Integration/ Continuous Testing/ Continuous Delivery processes and tools and have expertise in CI/CD tools and frameworkKnowledge of Code quality and promotion practicesMust be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellenceMust be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challengingExperience with Oracle EBS Financials (AP, PO, GL)Exposure to Workday Finance integration touchpointsExperience in healthcare or regulated industriesFamiliarity with data governance, audit compliance, and secure integrationsSAFe Agile Practitioner (a plus)BenefitsComprehensive benefits packageVarious incentive programs/plans401k contribution programs/plans (all benefits/incentives are subject to eligibility requirements)Company OverviewCareFirst.
