[Remote] Senior Underground Utilities Project Manager

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Underground Utilities Project Manager to join their Gas Team, focusing on the management and execution of complex gas infrastructure projects. The role involves overseeing project lifecycles, managing client relationships, and mentoring future project leaders to support energy transition and reliability.ResponsibilitiesOversee the full lifecycle of gas engineering projects—from scoping and proposal development to scheduling, budgeting, and quality managementPrepare proposals, project plans, project schedules, extra work authorizations, submittals, and project closeout documents to ensure on-time, compliant project deliveryPlay a key role in client contract interpretation and relationship management by serving as the primary client contact, resolving issues, anticipating needs, and ensuring alignment across all project phasesManage project financials, including forecasting, cash flow, resource allocation, and subcontractor paymentsAct as a “seller/doer,” developing work with specific clients and leading marketing plan development for target market areasLead and mentor other Project Managers, setting vision and strategy, and supporting professional growth across the teamLead high-impact gas projects that support energy reliability and the transition to cleaner, modernized systemsMentor and inspire the next generation of gas engineering and project management talentSkillsBachelor's Degree in engineering, architecture, science, planning, engineering management or a related field is requiredMinimum of 11 years of industry experience required; minimum of 8 years of project management experience requiredDemonstrated experience in managing client relationships and interpreting client contract requirementsExperience preparing proposals, project plans, extra work authorizations, and project closeout documents requiredProven ability to manage project accounting processes (budgeting, forecasts, cash management)Ability to solve problems with urgency and independently drive initiatives from concept to completion while overseeing multiple projectsExperience with Microsoft Office Suite requiredExcellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt style for various audiences and work in a collaborative environmentExperience utilizing problem-solving skills, exercising discretion, and making independent judgments requiredAbility to travel as needed requiredKnowledge of MS Project, Primavera P6, and/or Deltek Vision preferredConsulting industry experience and/or experience managing client relationships with investor-owned utilities highly preferredPMP certification, PE or equivalent professional license preferredCompany OverviewCHA Consulting, Inc.
