They are seeking a Senior Total Rewards Analyst to design, administer, and optimize total rewards programs, emphasizing retirement plan governance and employee engagement.ResponsibilitiesAnalyze total rewards programs (compensation, benefits, retirement, and leave programs) to evaluate competitiveness, cost effectiveness, utilization trends, and employee impact; prepare actionable reports and dashboards for leadershipLead day-to-day administration and governance of the company’s 401(k) plan(s), including coordination with recordkeepers, advisors, and internal stakeholdersOwn end-to-end administration of leaves of absence in partnership the leave of absence vendor (FMLA, ADA, state-specific leaves, STD/LTD, and other protected leaves), including case management, vendor coordination, compliance tracking, return-to-work processes, and employee/manager supportOwn and administer the ADA accommodations program, ensuring consistent application, equitable application across the organization, thorough interactive processes, accurate documentation, KPI tracking, and continuous process improvement while maintaining compliance with federal and state regulationsSupport retirement plan fiduciary responsibilities: coordinate investment reviews, perform fee benchmarking, maintain audit-ready documentation, and prepare materials for investment/retirement committee meetingsManage vendor coordination across total rewards programs, including benefits carriers, leave administrators, retirement recordkeepers, brokers, and consultants; oversee performance, contracts, SLAs, and issue resolutionPartner with external vendors and consultants on plan design, QDIA reviews, RFPs, conversions, and ongoing performance managementOversee compliance activities for benefits, retirement, and leave programs, including Form 5500 preparation, audits, disclosures, and ERISA/IRS/DOL requirementsServe as subject matter expert for employee benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA/HSA, wellness) and leave programs; resolve complex issues and drive process improvementsAnalyze leave utilization and total rewards metrics to identify trends and recommend enhancements that improve the employee experienceCollaborate cross-functionally with HR Business Partners, Finance, Payroll, Legal, and Communications to support organizational initiatives, open enrollment, and benefits educationIdentify and implement process improvements to streamline administration, enhance data accuracy in HRIS systems, and strengthen employee communications and toolsSkillsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field4–7 years of progressive experience in total rewards, benefits, retirement plan administration, and leaves of absence (strong preference for biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience)Deep working knowledge of 401(k) operations, fiduciary governance, ERISA, FMLA, ADA, and related regulationsProven experience coordinating multiple vendors and managing vendor relationshipsAdvanced Excel proficiency (VLOOKUPs, PivotTables, data modeling) and experience with HRIS platforms (Workday or ADP preferred)Proven ability to translate complex data into clear insights and recommendations for diverse audiencesExperience supporting retirement/investment committees or leading vendor RFPs/plan conversionsProfessional certifications (e.g., CEBS, WorldatWork CCP/CBP, or retirement plan credentials)Demonstrated success in process improvement, leaves administration, and cross-functional collaborationBenefitsMerit-based salary increasesShort incentive plan participationEligibility for our 401(k) planMedical, dental, vision, life and disability insurancesLeaves provided in line with your work stateFlexible paid time off11 paid holidays plus additional time off for a shut-down period during the last week of December80 hours of paid sick time upon hire and each year thereafterCompany OverviewSumitomo Pharma America (SMPA) is a science-based, technology-driven biopharmaceutical company focused on delivering therapeutic and scientific breakthroughs in areas of critical patient need in oncology, urology, women’s health, rare disease, cell and gene therapies and CNS.
