We are seeking an exceptionally talented Remote Senior Technical Animator to join our acclaimed team. This fully remote position offers the unique opportunity to shape the character and creature movement pipelines for our flagship titles from the comfort of your home studio. You will be instrumental in bridging the gap between art and engineering, developing and implementing advanced animation systems, tools, and workflows that empower our artists to create breathtaking performances. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of animation principles, rigging, character setup, and real-time engine integration, combined with strong scripting and problem-solving skills. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and improve character and creature animation systems, pipelines, and tools. Collaborate closely with animators, riggers, and game designers to define and implement animation requirements. Create high-quality animation rigs, blend trees, and state machines within the game engine (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity). Optimize animation assets and systems for performance on target platforms. Write and maintain animation-related scripts (e.g., Python, C#) to automate tasks and improve workflow efficiency. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to animation, rigging, and character setup. Provide technical guidance and support to the animation team. Research and implement cutting-edge animation technologies and techniques. Ensure animation quality and consistency across all game assets. Contribute to the overall technical and artistic vision of the game's character performance. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Graphics, Animation, Game Development, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Technical Animator or similar role in AAA game development. Proven experience with character rigging, skeletal animation, and animation state machines. Expertise in using industry-standard game engines (Unreal Engine preferred) and their animation systems. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Maya Embedded Language (MEL), or C#. Strong understanding of animation principles, kinematics, and physics-based animation. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Perforce, Git). Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills. Strong communication and collaboration abilities, essential for a remote team.
