[Remote] Senior System Engineer

They are seeking a highly motivated Senior Fuel Handling System Design Engineer to focus on the design of mechanical fuel handling and process systems for advanced nuclear reactor projects.ResponsibilitiesDesign of nuclear in-vessel fuel handling systems and equipment from requirements through final designManagement of Systems, Structures and Component level requirements ensuring they are traceable and implemented into configuration control system, including verification and validation methodsIdentify and ensure effective application of correct design codes into the design of plant systems Specifically ASME BPVC, ANS 57.1, NML-1, NUM-1 and BTH-1Analyze and allocate regulatory criteria and standards to complex mechanical and process system designInterface with the design team to create and manage drawing packages of system designs, including but not limited to Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and system or equipment interface drawingsProvide technical direction and oversight of supplier projects, working with the Supplier Project Engineer to ensure delivery of data and other deliverables, as well as coordination and performance of technical reviews of deliverablesOriginate and review technical design documents, such as System Design Descriptions, Interface Control Documents, Engineering Design Specifications, reports, design change requests, etcSupport design reviews as plant system and subsystem designs are established and refinedSkillsA minimum of 8 years of demonstrated experience in the design of complex mechanical systems, structures and equipmentDemonstrated experience with 2D and/or 3D CAD software, preferably SolidworksExperience working to ASME BPVC Section III or Section VIII code desiredExcellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skillsAbility to navigate and thrive in an actively evolving project and management structureThe successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly, display respect and a desire to foster teamwork, have an aspiration for technical excellence, and be a self-starter able to perform with minimal directionEducation: B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or equivalent STEM discipline preferred.
