As a Senior Software Engineer in Strategy Research Analytics, you will lead the design and evolution of analytics infrastructure, ensuring reliability and scalability for research reporting and analysis.ResponsibilitiesOwn implementation and on-going operation of recurring analytics pipelines (e.g., Airflow DAGs) including monitoring, alerting, and reliability improvementsLead architectural evolution of the analytics platform, including schema standardization, DAG consolidation, and modernization of legacy workflowsDrive cross-team technical alignment when consolidating duplicated or inconsistent analytics outputsBuild and maintain base analytics tables and metrics with strong schema discipline and reproducible computationDefine and implement reliability standards (SLOs, observability patterns, runbooks) adopted across analytics pipelinesImprove transparency and usability through documentation, discoverability, and clear data contractsOptimize distributed compute and SQL query performance; design data layouts (partitioning, file sizing) for columnar storageMentor engineers through design reviews and raise the bar for operational and modeling rigorSkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience6+ years of experience building and operating analytics or data infrastructure systemsStrong proficiency in Python and SQLDeep experience with distributed query engines and large-scale compute systemsDemonstrated ownership of large-scale or mission-critical data infrastructureStrong data modeling expertise, including schema design, partitioning strategy, and reproducibility considerationsExpertise in metadata management, data lineage, and applying robust data governance principlesExperience leading architectural migrations or major refactors of data platformsFamiliarity with AWS cloud technologies and on-prem compute clusters (e.g., Slurm, SSH, Unix)Exposure to quantitative research or machine learning environmentsBenefitsHighly competitive compensation and benefits packagesTechnology talks by our expertsA beautiful modern officeDaily catered lunches$7,500 – $15,000 if your referred candidate is successfully hired and employed by The Voleon GroupCompany OverviewThe Voleon Group is a family of companies committed to the development & deployment of cutting-edge technologies in investment management.
