[Remote] Senior Software Engineer - Data Infrastructure

Marqeta is looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to independently identify and deliver software solutions on our Data Infrastructure team. The role involves owning and delivering projects, collaborating with cross-functional partners, and contributing to the data lakehouse, streaming, orchestration, and catalog platforms that power analytics and AI across the company.ResponsibilitiesDefine and deliver well-scoped milestones for projects, and may be a technical lead for projects on your teamLead design for small-to-medium components and participate in design for larger components, moving from task-level impact to small-to-medium project-level impactHave significant ownership of a component of the data infrastructure, including its reliability, performance, and developer experienceIdentify gaps and propose plans towards addressing those gapsIndependently write code that is clear, well-tested, and appropriately flexible, reusable, and adaptable to changing requirementsActively level up less-experienced members of your team by helping them with their craft, providing guidance, and setting a good exampleParticipate in on-call coverageSkills5+ years of experience as a software engineer with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree.
