[Remote] Senior SAP Functional Consultant – Finance and Controlling (FI/CO)

Informatic Technologies, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior SAP FI/CO Functional Consultant to join their ECC to S/4HANA conversion project team. The role involves leading the full project lifecycle, including fit-gap analysis, financial data migration, and stakeholder engagement, while ensuring compliance with S/4HANA standards.ResponsibilitiesLead fit-gap analysis for FI/CO processes; identify impacted simplification items (Universal Journal, new Asset Accounting, new Cost Center Accounting, elimination of classic GL, reconciliation ledger removal)Evaluate conversion approach implications for FI/CO: open item management, balance carryforward, document splitting migration, and profit center/segment migrationMap and validate FI/CO configuration objects for migration including chart of accounts, document types, posting keys, controlling area settings, cost element migration to G/L accounts (S/4HANA merges cost elements into G/L)Support financial data migration: G/L balances, open items (AR/AP), asset migration (using AS91/RAALTD01 or migration cockpit), cost center/profit center planning dataReview and resolve SPDD/SPAU items related to FI/CO customizationsIdentify FI/CO custom enhancements (user exits, BADIs, substitutions, validations) requiring S/4HANA compatibility remediationConfigure Universal Journal-based ledger architecture, document splitting, and parallel accounting in S/4HANADesign and configure new Asset Accounting (depreciation areas, asset classes, integration with GL)Configure Management Accounting (CO-PA, profit center accounting, internal orders, cost centers) leveraging S/4HANA's unified FI/CO architectureDevelop functional specifications for RICEFW objects (custom reports, interfaces, forms) needed in S/4HANAEnsure integration with MM (GR/IR), SD (billing/revenue recognition), and PP modulesDevelop and execute unit, integration, and regression test scripts for converted FI/CO processesSupport and coordinate UAT; triage and resolve defectsDefine FI/CO cutover tasks: closing periods, balance transfers, open item cutover, asset data load sequencing; participate in mock cutoversSupport hypercare stabilization post go-liveEngage finance and controlling business stakeholders; secure decisions on simplification-driven process changesProduce project documentation: fit-gap logs, configuration workbooks, functional specs, test scripts, training materialsReport risks and recommendations to project leadershipSkillsBachelor's degree or equivalent7+ years hands-on SAP FI/CO functional consulting experienceMinimum 2 full-lifecycle ECC to S/4HANA conversion projects in a lead FI/CO role (brownfield, greenfield, or selective data transition)Deep knowledge of S/4HANA Universal Journal architecture and its impact on FI/CO processes and configurationExperience with new Asset Accounting in S/4HANA (parallel depreciation areas, asset migration)Strong understanding of the merger of CO cost elements into G/L accounts and implications for reportingHands-on experience with financial data migration tools: SAP Migration Cockpit (LTMC), LSMW, or RFBIBL00Experience with SAP Activate methodologyProficiency writing functional specifications and collaborating with ABAP developers on RICEFWExcellent communication skills; able to convey financial process impacts to non-technical business stakeholdersStrong ability to manage priorities and meet project milestonesSAP Certified Application Associate – SAP S/4HANA Finance (current version preferred)Experience with SAP Group Reporting or S/4HANA for Group Business PlanningFamiliarity with SAP Revenue Accounting and Reporting (RAR/IFRS 15)Experience with SAP Tax compliance integrations (Vertex, Sovos, or similar)Prior consulting experience with a system integrator in a project delivery modelCompany OverviewOverview We are a Woman Owned Minority National IT Solutions provider and a Systems Integrator, specializing in Digital Transformation solutions, Data Management/Analytics and GRC Solutions.
