The role involves acting as the primary interface to customer accounts, achieving sales targets, and leading strategic partnerships while supporting project teams with market intelligence and guidance.ResponsibilitiesAct as the primary interface to assigned customer accounts, representing the company with integrity and professionalismAchieve the sales targets assigned, for products and systems, in alignment with the organization commercial strategyLead prioritization of opportunities within the assigned area/customer base and presentation of opportunities for senior leadership’s Go/No Go decisionLead the set-up of partnerships/consortiums/JV to pursue sales opportunitiesLead discussions with clients and partner addressing win to win solutionsLead presentation of proposal for final senior leadership’s bid approvalLead preparation and submission of responses to Requests for Information, Market Soundings, Requests for Qualification, and Requests for Proposal from Customers, by interacting with other departments in the organization (Bidding, Engineering, Product Management, Legal, Finance, Project Management, Constructions, Supply Chain, and Procurement)Manage contract negotiations according to delegated authoritySupport project teams within the assigned area/customer base with market intelligence information and strategic guidance for commercial mattersLead the definition of the Line of Business short/medium term strategic plan and the annual sales budget/targets for the assigned area/customer baseSupport the Region leadership in the definition of the Line of Business short/medium term strategic plan and the annual sales budget/targets for the North America regionContribute to the identification and assessment of market trends, business opportunities, customer needs and orientations, competitor positioning, and potential strategic partnershipsTimely update the CRM database and opportunity pipelinesActively participate in Sales Team meetings and workshops, ensuring the sharing of information and lessons learnedManage product sales to include; customer familiarization, pricing, contracts, factory alignment, follow-up, and general engineering coordinationWork with R&D and Engineering to assure Customer and Market requirements are incorporated into current and future offeringsSkillsExperience with Mass Transit rail industry in the United States and Canada5+ years of experience in Sales, Business Development or Bidding position, or a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishmentsExperience in business operations and/or commercial activities, such as negotiation and contracting skills in a B2B contextTechnical aptitude and the ability to learn technical mattersPlanning and Organizational skills to plan and execute a customer account strategyData mining and analysis skills to analyze customer and industry dataPublic speaking capabilities and strong communicator skillsGood Office Suites knowledge (mostly Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel)Strategic and global mindsetStrong leadership, ability to coach and guide colleagues and team membersHigh proactivityBachelor's DegreeEnglish ProficiencyMBA, Executive MBA, Leadership Program certificates are a plusKnowledge of either Spanish or French is a plusBenefitsCompetitive PayMedical, Dental and Vision InsuranceShort & Long Term DisabilityLife & Accident InsuranceFlexible Spending AccountsA Retirement Savings PlanPaid VacationWork/Life Programs such as FlextimeA variety of Training and Development opportunitiesCompany OverviewHitachi Rail is a provider of rail solutions across rolling stock, signalling services and turnkey.
