[Remote] Senior Research Scientist, Digital Biology

They are seeking a Senior Research Scientist to develop datasets and evaluation frameworks for foundation models while collaborating with various teams to enhance drug discovery processes.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Serving as a technical lead for the development of datasets, tasks, and evaluation frameworks for foundation models
ā¢ Building external collaborations and community efforts to build high-quality datasets and biologically meaningful tasks for complex problems in digital biology
ā¢ Establishing benchmarks and evaluation criteria, and demonstrating the strengths of our research output to promote tangible progress in the field
ā¢ Inventing novel training and inference techniques, harnessing the power of NVIDIA accelerated computing platforms
ā¢ Publishing original research and releasing open-source software
ā¢ Collaborating with research and engineering teams across NVIDIA to translate research into products and services
ā¢ Mentoring emerging researchers and helping set the technical direction of the project
Skills
ā¢ Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Computational Chemistry, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent experience
ā¢ More than 5 years of pertinent experience involving direct assessment of models in the digital biology and drug discovery field
ā¢ Proven track record of publishing work in machine learning, data science, and/or digital biology
ā¢ Proficient in modern machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX
ā¢ Experience in one or more of the following: cheminformatics, computational biology, proteomics, structural biology, or another relevant field of biology or chemistry
ā¢ Ability to absorb new information and keep others informed about the most recent advancements and tools in the field
ā¢ Ability to work together in a tight-knit team environment
ā¢ Comprehensive understanding of the drug discovery field
ā¢ Experience formulating original strategies in machine learning
ā¢ Experience with multimodal biological or chemical foundation models
ā¢ Experience defining benchmarks, evaluation frameworks, or shared standards for scientific ML
ā¢ Track record of research impact through publications, open-source software, patents, or transferred technology
