The seasonal Senior Quality Assurance Analyst will lead quality efforts throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring products meet technical standards and deliver exceptional customer experiences through a combination of strategic planning, hands-on testing, and collaboration.ResponsibilitiesDevelop comprehensive testing strategies, test plans, and test cases in alignment with organizational and industry standardsDocument defects clearly and thoroughly, enabling easy reproduction and providing well-considered workarounds for customer issuesPropose and articulate process improvement ideas, including implementation strategies and actionable plansDesign and execute thorough manual test cases based on deep product knowledge and test design principles, ensuring full coverage with efficient resource useLeverage test automation tools to enhance test coverage and improve testing efficiencyPerform end-to-end functional testing, incorporating both manual and automated test executions to validate system behaviorAct as a customer advocate by investigating production defects and championing customer requirements throughout the development lifecycleReview product documentation for accuracy and clarity, ensuring it meets customer needs; train others on product functionality and testing practicesDesign tests that reflect real-world customer usage, including nuanced scenarios informed by ongoing customer feedbackCollaborate with User Experience teams to develop usability tests and contribute to the creation, review, and approval of requirements and design documentationInfluence marketing requirements documents by providing feedback grounded in deep product knowledge and understanding of customer needsParticipate in inspection and review processes for non-code deliverables, particularly at the requirements documentation stageCreate detailed work plans for individual and project tasks, documenting goals, designs, and outcomes for both technical and non-technical audiencesEvaluate and prioritize alternative approaches to meet objectives effectively and efficientlySkillsBachelor's degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experienceAbility to anticipate customer needs and match them with appropriate products and servicesAbility to collaborate and solve problems effectively with excellent cross-team collaboration and communication skillsBasic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), accounting theory, and payroll theory/payroll taxationComfort with working under pressure in a fast-paced environmentExceptional verbal and written communication skills, including customer service, listening, negotiation, and presentation5 years minimum related work experienceProven ability to juggle multiple projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detailSelf-sufficient and self-starter mindset with the ability to prioritize work efficientlyStrong research skillsFamiliarity with multiple accounting and enterprise resource planning systems such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, and SageBenefitsSuccessful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.Qualifying associates can enroll themselves and/or their eligible dependents in medical and prescription drug coverageCan participate in the H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (401(k) Plan)The Employee Assistance Program(virtual) fitness center programsThe associate discount programAre automatically enrolled in Business Travel Accident InsuranceReceive Associate Tax Prep benefitCompany OverviewH&R Block is a tax solutions provider that offers tax returns, filings, and advisory services for individuals and businesses.
