[Remote] Senior Project Accountant

Resource Innovations is a women-led energy transformation firm focused on impact, seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Accountant to join their team. The role involves supporting billing, reviewing Profit and Loss Statements, applying revenue standards, and assisting with project setup within the Oracle system.ResponsibilitiesProducts, Software and services revenue recognition, in compliance with ASC 606Review contract terms and set up project codes, revenue methods, billing formulas in Oracle accounting systemPrepare detailed financial reports, including cost analysis, variance analysis, and profitability assessmentsPreparing and reviewing invoicesClient management, including communication with project managers and clients as needPrepare and post journal entries related to project costs, revenues, and adjustmentsShow initiative, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing required changesAssist with external audits, providing documentation and explanations as neededHandle more complex projects and assist other project accountantsAssist Revenue Manager with ad hoc reportingOther duties as assignedSkillsBachelor's degree in accounting or related fieldAt least 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably in an engineering consulting, technology, retail or related firmsUnderstanding of ASC 606Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office systems, including Excel and WordKeen attention to detail and strong organizational skillsExceptional time management skills, with the ability to multi-taskExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong critical thinking skillsTeam player who can identify and initiate process improvementsInterest in sustainability and passionate about making a meaningful impact on the environmentAbility to travel to Chicago, IL up to 1-2 times a year, as neededDemonstrated experience in a team leadership role strongly preferredOracle experience is a plusInventory/Software Accounting experience is a plusBenefitsDiscretionary annual bonusThree weeks of paid vacation annuallyPaid holidaysA 401(k) retirement plan with employer matchMedical, dental and vision coverageParental leaveAn employee assistance programCommuter benefitsAdditional supplemental offeringsCompany OverviewResource Innovations is a provider of demand-side management, energy efficiency, and energy consulting services.
